it wasn't really a surprise. i didn't really think that some sort of magic dust would be sprinkled to allay my eventual "exodus"
but when she gave me a verbal blow job to soften the news, i was stunned. i just dont know why.
two more weeks of part time pay and then im in need of another job. (aside from the full time day job) i just didn't think i would have to job hunt so damn soon. *sigh* i think i hate that more than working, for sure.
it'll be fine. it's not the end of the world but its most deffinitely the end of comfort.

I've been up since four. I have no internal alarm clock, my damned mind gets me up when ever the fuck it feels like. Sigh.

We are developing a 4 am insomnia theory... that seems to be the time we are all awake and sleepless regardless of location.

It happened again. Woke up at 4.12. Wierd, isn't it? But I was very tired, it was merely my bladder. I thought about coming on and maintaining the record......for about 3 seconds....then crawled back into bed to sleep.

I see further down that Rob joined the club and woke at 4am.

It really is very, very strange. There's definitely scope for an investigation here.

I have just witnessed an amazingly cruel and malicious act on another web discussion board that was performed with no other intention but to hurt another individual (not me). I guess I am naive, and spoiled by the benignity of this place. We sometimes step on each other's toes and behave thoughtlessly here, but I have never seen outright malice like that in this place. I am quite stunned and saddened, really. My faith in humanity and this medium is somewhat shaken.

Ugh, ugly stuff. You learn a lot about people when they fear no consequences for their actions, and I think that's sometimes what you get online. *nuzzles* I'm sorry; I know that feeling, when one sees sheer viciousness enacted for its own sake. Even when the scale of the results is small, the impulse itself is so horribly depressing - taking joy in the suffering of others.

That lack of consequences can be good, too, though. It reveals character, and there are good characters as well. When I read nastiness of that sort, my chiefest consolation is turning to Colleen's passionate fair-mindedness and decency, English Lady's patient and selfless kindness, Carson's beautiful ability to accept the goodness in all people, OhMissScarlett's wonderful humor and energy, Malachite's gentle thoughtfulness and wisdom, and a hundred more examples of people who are good, kind, and caring, not because they must be, but because when they can do anything they like, that's what they do.

It's a good thing to see. Perhaps the best thing.
