Aww, thanks, Rob.

Drool all you want, I just bought a new Swiffer. :)

As if I have a choice in the matter. ;)

Anyway, drooling is one of the main reasons for my beard. I can drool and the beard soaks it up. And I can squeeze it out in private later. :D

:D neat trick, unless it's winter and you're outside.

*blurt*
89? Already? I wouldn't even get out if it wasn't for the funnel cakes. Oh, and the corn dogs and beer.

I think we all feel like that at times. When others have achieved/ received reached a dimension we have not (yet)

I can relate too

Eep. I'm stuck between feeling terribly embarrassed for blurting something so personal, and terribly touched that all of you responded. I'd just like to squeeze every single one of you.

I will say that my recent trip to China had yet another, unexpected outcome: I'm a lot more open to adoption than I was before. I used to think if it wasn't a babe from my own womb, it could never truly be "mine." But seeing those adorable little girls... I fell in love, and realized that true motherhood comes from the heart, not the womb.

I've gone back and forth about adoption, and adoption from China has crossed my mind. We never planned on children, but hadn't planned NOT to have children. When the fates (and other things) demonstrated the "no genetic offspring" option, I thought about adoption a lot. Now I have days when I think I'll die if I don't have a child, and an equal number of days when I just want another kitten...

I can so relate. Except I'd like another dog. :)

very interesting, but somehow....I don't know, I expected to see more non-Caucasian women, considering how populations are, but perhaps there weren't any available.

Still, amazing how much we all look alike naked, yet how individual.

There's not a lot of age or weight variety, either.

Still, I found the facial expressions most amusing -- and the various tan lines (or lack thereof).

My thoughts exactly. For "world wide beauty" it wasn't very representative. Very interesting, though.

Ya, and one has either a scar or a tattoo on her hip

Yes, these all seem to follow that basic ratio pattern for beauty with a strong bias for western standards of beauty. Lots of theories about why we identify some people as beautiful and others as not.

I do not wish to be productive today.

At all.

Oh, I can soooo relate to that.
But.

The gosling and I are preparing for an outing, partly to shop for birthday presents and cards, for my father (86), my youngest brother (55) and my ex (58), who had the audacity to be born on three consecutive days.

I need to get them bought, wrapped and posted today or Monday at the latest, to make sure they get there in time. But what to buy??? Goddess knows. We'll walk and see what takes our fancy.

The other partly? To get some much needed exercise, in the form of walking around an air conditioned mall, all on one floor, and in a very very large circle formation. Perfect. It's just the getting from the car to the mall which does me in. Like someone's blasting me with the exhaust from a jet engine.

See y'all later.

Ya know my favorite things to get in such situations? Food.

No, seriously, there are great places that put together baskets of flowers and food and ship them all over. (Harry and David is my fave, but I don' tknow if they ship to the UK). Someone else does all the shipping bother, and you just pick from the catalog/website. And if you chose well, everyone is happy. (We have people ask us each year if they are getting that good stuff they got from Harry & David last year, and can we make sure they get a catalog?)

I was sleeping. Semi-bad night last night.

Hi Crim.

Blurt: I will not, repeat not, be envious of other's good fortune.
