Scores are only passing interest to me - a curiosity only. I got what I needed from posting this story on Lit, which was some amazing feedback. Anything else is just gravy. :)
Ex-cellent attitude. If you had said, "I do it for the pure joy of creation," I would have rolled my eyes and thought, "Yeah, right - why bother to post then?" Doing it for "amazing feedback" - absolutely, that's the real deal. That's the icing on the cake, the bloom on the rose, the rosy in the cheeks - you get the picture! :D

The only confirmation and assurance you need is in your own heart.
If it feels right, then do it.

This is your time.

Oh, how I wish it were that easy!

At this moment, I miss my dad so much I could scream and not stop. I won't, though.

Don't worry, it will pass. It does each time it comes over me, missing him so much and hearing the little girl inside me wondering where he's gone. But I know he's ok, and I'm ok, and all I really feel is sorry for myself. And I know that part of him is still with me and will be forever.

But sometimes I still want to scream.

The suspense must be terrible.
I gave myself a 4 one time to knock me down a few spots from a toplist position that was pure troll-bait. I always tell myself not to get excited, but when the bubble bursts still end up feeling like Charlie Brown flat on his back, kick-footballus-interuptus.
That said - maybe C will bust your theory. :)

I rather like seeing the trolls shoot "Will" down and seeing it climb back up again over and over. You can't keep a good man down. :D For a while I used to taunt them about it on the blurt thread. I've had enough feedback from that story to make me happy for a long time, and I am very happy with the story itself (although the sex scene needs a major revision), so the score wouldn't bother me much at any rate - but I admit a certain thrill and a petty "Hah!" feeling when it's shot down and then rises up again as determined as ever. It seems to fit the story.

In 5 months I've learned the reason why I'm alive

In 5 days I've learned that your life is yours to command and live

In 5 hours I can dream beautiful craziness

In 5 minutes I can go from light to dark

In 5 seconds my heart may beat a thousand glorious beats

Yes I like your hat
imagine that

but I picture a goose in a tam
but not eating green eggs and ham

and now this silliness has me in a jam
but I shall remain, Sam I am.

Suck it up, sweets. ;) Everything has a price. Well ... almost everything. Some things have only dividends.

I thought I wasn't getting sufficiently into the romantic spirit, because that was my first thought too - great minds . . . :D

Really? Are there some things like that?

(As with my previous post above, I'm not dong a very good job of embracing romantic sentiments this morning. Maybe it's first-thing-in-the-morning, first-cuppa thing. ;) However, this does raise an interesting question. Some things have such high dividends that one does not mind the associated costs, but could there be some things have only dividends? I suspect not -something about laws of thermodynamics, or free lunches, or somehthing . . . I could be wrong - need to think about this some more.)

When you give -- without regard for what you'll get in return -- there are only dividends. Sounds bass ackwards, but 'tis true. :rose:
