That alone is worth getting back for.

Apologies for my absence, and humblest thanks for the very kind decision not to celebrate it with sighs of relief and a public roasting of my dubious character. ;)

Special  for Carson, of course.

Roast character is more of a winter dish, don't you think?

For a moment I was completely confused with the "Stat!" and the "Sluts" threads...

35 C (95 F) and rising. Yesterday it was 16 C (60 F). WTF is up with the weather? Am I supposed to freeze my ass off or sweat like a pig?

I just checked the weather for back home.

9 days of showers and light rain. No sunshine until 15th.

I wanna. :(

Here its already 84F, at almost 6 in the morning. Not a good omen. Expected high of 102F by 5pm today.

I have to decide if I really want to go shopping today. *sigh*

If you go, go early and streak :rose: - otherwise you'll roast.

It's 3:30 in the afternoon and the doctor still hasn't come to see him yet.

Hoping he gets better, Rora.... sending you my prayers.

Did you try turning it on?

Well... I'm not sure what I did, but it's washing the clothes now. The task was made that much harder by having my 93 year old nan standing over my shoulder, screaming each time I pressed a button or turned the dial, and preaching to me the dire consequences of breaking it.

If the washing machine were female, I would have turned it on without even trying   ;)

How can you tell the difference???

I almost hate it when i finish a good book. It's over you know. I mean I could re-read it or start the series over yet again, but it doesn't make the feeling go away. It takes so long to find a book I enjoy it sucks when the last page is read.
I soooo know what you're talking about. It's a feeling of desolation. For a few days you lived in a technicolor other world, and now everything is black and white again. (Rather overdramatic phrases by me, but they convey the feeling.)

Interesting thoughts. I have no frame of reference, but am not surprised that this is a superior writers community. Belegon's probably captures the main reason - the nature of our subject matter creates common ground, leading to a sense of fellowship, an "us against the world" feeling.

My first thought was, since we all do it for free here there is a leveling and a feeling of humility in each of us that makes for good community. No matter how glowing my RCVs may be, I never lose awareness that free lunches are always popular - how many would read if they had to pay? (Don't answer that!)
