I know how you feel.... I have recently been asked by one of said people if i play professional basketball. I think it had something to do with my lenght or my inability to convert from cm's to inches. Or perhaps both.

I'm still getting used to metric back in UK, but I still THINK in feet and inches, in degrees F, in pounds and ounces.

The youngest was confused in cookery classes at school when he was given a recipe that read lbs and ozs. The ex and I laughed hysterically (our bad), when we realised what it was. Mainly because he pronounced them as they were written. Lbs and ozes. Oh, happy days.

As for temperatures, I've got them worked out in my head now.....starting at 50F = 10C, every 9F equates to a further 5C. Easy. I just convert the temps on my fingers now.....and just for the record, at 12.50pm, the temperature is at 97F, around 36C (approx). Quite cool for here. Honest.

Everyone's nowhere near here. *pout*
Funny, though, that when I make it to Europe, flying will often be much cheaper to go to new countries than it would be to go a few states away here.

Indeed, that's because all the countries are much closer than your states.

From the nearest provincial/international airport to me, in UK, I can fly to Dublin, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Paris, Brussels, Amsterdam......all in an hour. No more than a bus ride. Can't wait to take the gosling to Dublin. She'll absolutely love it.

It takes me 2 hours to fly from here in Az to Dallas in Texas. Bizarre.

The only things that I am good with converting is money and on the odd occasion religion :)

You are welcome to come too, but i suppose you'd be too busy with the casting of the 4th season L word?
Yes, I'm bringing in Roseanne as Jenny's new love interest.

I know, but doesn't it still seem silly? It's far more exciting to visit new countries. I believe the off season fare between Krakow and Dublin is about £35 - I have a friend living in Dublin, and that's one of the first stops I plan on making. :D

It's a beautiful city, and small enough to be able to walk around.
You just HAVE to go to the Temple Bar area, after dark. All the streets are cobbled, every other building is a restaurant or bar or pub. There's one, down a small side street, almost up against the River Liffey, where the ex and I went every night during our 5 day stay there. It was packed to the gunnels, and I mean packed. Live traditional music and dancing from a group up on a small stage. The atmosphere was amazing, and the guiness......oh my god, the guiness in Dublin is like guiness nowhere else. You'll have to drink it. Black velvet. There's no other name for it.

Apart from the evenings, there's so much to see. I really wanted to visit Trinity College to see the original Book of the Kells. Stunning, amazing, so very hard to believe I was actually looking at the original book. And some wonderful shops. Beautiful parks, and lots of tourist places to visit.

I want to go there now, more than before.

Oh, there's one thing I forgot. They do a literary pub crawl.

You literally, join in with an organised outing, on foot, around Dublin at night, visiting pub after pub, each one having a connection with a famour writer, and in each one, while you're downing your nth glass of guiness, they have readings from said writer's work.

I never got to do it, to my disappointment. I think if we had, the ex would have had to carry me home, completely sozzled.

Next time though.....................

Good match. Can I get a sex scene with Marina? Jess says she's prepared to body double for Shane.
I'll negotiate both.

I'm talking to Ellen to do a walkon.

I've been dying to go there for years, and your recommendation certainly helps. I've heard that about the Guinness from everyone I know who's been there. :D

I'm of mostly Irish, Italian and Polish descent. So, after Ireland, I'll have two down and one to go. :)

I added a bit after your replied.

Thank you, gorgeous.
She doesn't bother me.
And the answer anyway, is 'quite tall enough'. ;)
