Brain dead.

When Jammies told me about Colleen, I was sitting at my computer writing a story. It was another website where I was introduced to her writing, and she was a tremendous inspiration to me to try my hand at all of this. She showed that "erotic" fiction didn't have to be cheap or meaningless . . . that it could be deep, rich and expressive. She was an artist and wonderful at what she did.

Yes, she was. *face crumples again* :(

I want to post something... anything. But nothing will come into my brain... it's to numb with shock and sadness. I just can't seem to wrap my wits around the idea of it...

... someone please tell me it's not real and that it will all be OK in the morning.
It will be okay in the morning, Ducky, because the very last thing in this world that Colly would have wanted to do is bring you pain, okay? Mourn.

And then celebrate the fact that you had her in your life; not that she's gone from it. :rose:

Peace and love to all,

Yui

Wow, this painting stuff takes a lot of fucking patience.

I'll feel incredibly proud of myself if I finish the bathroom tonight before heading home though.

Edit - Whoa, what the fuck happened to Colly?

Colly gets the good stuff...

I'm getting into the 18 yr old Macallan.

I announced it on the GB by the way...and I think it was Roxanne that told the GLBT...

I also sent out a special notice on my Yahoo group.

I was going to text Lucky and Vella, but they're away for the weekend, and it seemed rather pointless to spoil one of their rare weekends together. There is nothing they can do, I'll text them later tomorrow, when they get home.

And, of course, its only 6.30 in UK, so the Brit's will find out soon.

This is what I sent to my Yahoo Group...

The Erotica Community Has Lost A Lyrical Voice.

About an hour ago, I found out that one of my oldest writing
friends, a dear lady who helped edit and inspire some of my earliest
work, passed away on May 26th.

Colleen Thomas never actually got published because she never
submitted anything to a publisher. But she wrote like crazy. She
won awards at Literotica like she was the Wayne Gretzky of the
Lesbian Sex genre. If there was a Hall Of Fame for grassroots
erotica, she would be a first ballot selection.

Prolific. Passionate. Willing to tackle things just for the
challenge, she sought out my advice when she finally decided to try
a hetero story last year. I adored being able to help her as she
had helped me. She credited me with assitance on "The Spy Wore
Petticoats", her most recent novel; it was published only through
Literotica. But she did half of the helping she credited me with,
drawing out the ideas from me. It was as though all I did was
confirm.

If you never read anything by Colleen, go to Literotica and just
look at the top list for Lesbian Sex. Or read one of her novels,
The Furies or The Spy Wore Petticoats. They are awesome.
I have the great honor of being the inspiration for a character in The
Furies
and I will cherish that fact for the rest of my days.

I will miss you very intently Colleen. I will always hold you in my
heart when I sit down to write. You were much more than an editor or
a colleague. I am, and will always remain, one of your greatest
fans. Goodbye my dear. We will meet again.
