Have you tried black cohosh? My mom took three a day after the hormones didn't work for her, and breezed right through menopause with it.

I've taken it for years, never had a side effect like that.

I have a friend who I got started on it for polycystic ovaries and she loves it... she takes a double dose when the first twinges start, and she's golden for the rest of the process.

I will say this -- while it is an early stage abortificant, don't attempt to use it in that manner without having an experienced, trusted herbalist brew it up for you. Otherwise, you just OD yourself on estrogen and get violently ill.

But for cramps, PMS, menopause... it rocks.
