The only thing I've found that comes close to an authentic American brownie is (*snort* big surprise *snort*) Duncan Heins brownie mix, but it's ULTRA expensive since it's imported from the States and I'd also have to walk 20 minutes (each way) to pick up a box from the only supermarket that carries it.

Definitely do cuz I make homemade brownies from choc chips that are fabulous. Way way better than any kind of mix.
