Isolated Blurt Thread

Dear Armadillo Homes, Inc.;

Please finish building the rest of the houses on our street. I'm getting tired of picking up empty soda bottles, discarded snack chip bags, and pieces of foam and drywall that get blown into my yard every morning. Not to mention that my six-year-old thinks every mound of dirt, sand, rock and rubble is something to be played upon. But, more annoying than all of that . . . there's only so much friggin' Tejano music I can stand!

Yours Truly,

Slyc

Heh. Sorry, mate. Didn't mean to make you feel old...

I have a multiplicity of 'em, and they are great.
And I do not care about age, mate. It's immaterial.

Do you remember Kojak, on TV ? (Telly Savalas). One of his lines used to be
"Who loves you, baby?"

I used to say that to my Grandchildren when they were small and then provide an answer:

"Grandad, that's who!"

When I was ill, one of my grandsons replied when I said I was ill:

"Remember Grandad; who loves you?"

:D Kinda makes it all worthwhile, don't it...?

I should be going to Zumba in the morning, instead I'm drinking and playing with my BRAND NEW COMPUTER!! The sad part is that it's not because of the drinking that I'm not going, I just wanted to play with the new PC lol

I can't pinpoint it to any one thing that I did. In fact, it has been keeping me from working out, or shoveling the driveway this morning.

TGP I am really sorry about your back. I hope it gets better soon. Do you have ibruprofen gel to rub into it?

Oh, I've been popping ibuprofen every few hours since yesterday. No shortage there. And thank you for caring.

It is getting better. But I still feel physically useless until I get fully recovered.

It's very tiring when you are in pain. When you can't move properly it can be upsetting too. Get good rest, try to lie flat or in the recovery position - can you google that? so your spine is in a straight line and your muscles are comfortable. Gel can be good as it goes direct onto the source of pain. BTW you can have paracetamol and ibuprofen together as they are different painkillers.

Oh, and this isn't my first go around with back problems. It might be the fourth time it has been this bad over the last thirteen years. I first threw it out moving 500 sheets of 24"x36" paper around the office, and then again from an old mattress, and then again from an old mattress (they only last so long), and maybe another time from misuse in there somewhere. I know the pain of this all too well...

Perhaps you do need to look for a good quality mattress. This can be very expensive, but a good mattress lasts for much longer - and health is so important. You lose days of work from poor health so think of it as an investment maybe?

The problem is in bipedalism. The pelvis acts as a makeshift keystone arch, with no buttressing. It starts falling apart after age thirty or so. The only thing that holds it together is muscle and sinew, and once a juncture of sacrum and illium slip, the only thing left is pain relief. And be assured that anyone who might design something like the human back would surely fail Architectural Engineering 101.

ROFLOL, Tio! Classic academic response. Great analysis of the problem but not much for poor TGP in the way of a solution.

Is it wrong to be in love with an inanimate object? 'Cause I'm a little in love with my new computer right now.... It's so fast and pretty :)

Back is feeling a lot better, but still not where I need it to be to return to my active activities. I hate feeling like an invalid.
