Thrilled to have electricity again!! (Not to mention internet and my Pinterest) :D

It sucks to have to write a decent story that people really like, but I have to get past trolls and detracters, who feel the need to 1 bomb on every chapter, just because it's me, or they hate that a straight male is writing a top story on every chapter.

I should have written this as a female writer and I'd never have half the shit I get and be praised instead. Talk about discrimination.

Oh my god...please keep your little thirsty, young self away from me. I'm damn near thirty. I don't have time for your drama.

 Eek! I have been registered on Literotica for 10 years this month.

That doesn't include the months before I registered when I was just lurking.

It's been a great decade with you being here Ogg, congrats.:)

Thank you.

I've just done a rough count. In my first six months I posted 14 stories and 4 poems. Including submissions as jeanne_d_artois I have averaged 20 posted stories (or chapters) a year, and 1,000 posts a year.

Worthy accomplishments, Ogg. ;)

The local chapter of the Mensa society sent me a free IQ test in the mail. The mail back deadline was this Friday past, but I still haven't figured out how to open the goddam envelope.

I think you aren't going to pass the test.:D

Can you find the recycle bin on your own?

There were folk in Albemarle County, central Virginia and Roanoke who were without power for more than a week. In my area, the power company did a commendable and remarkable job restoring service, though there were some who did not have electricity for as much as a week.

D.C. was, of course, its usual disaster with a bunch of dimbulbs running around like chickens with their heads cut off.

It was the most violent weather event I've ever witnessed. There are still some roads that are impassable due to fallen trees that haven't been cleared.

I'm aware of one jinxed family who had a tree fall on their automobile about a month ago. On the night of June 30th, yet another tree fell on their house and a second car.

In some respects, it was good to have the power off for an extended period of time. There are far too many people who forget what life would be like without abundant, reliable and affordable energy.

Naturally, the usual suspects availed themselves of the opportunity to evangelize their religious views. They continuously troll for the gullible and the credulous:

It must be wonderful for you to know so much and to be able to sit in judgment of other people. I am sure at the grand old age of 35, you have walked in everyone else's shoes already and that your well documented maturity makes you more than qualified to look down on others and to be able to preach the sanctity of marriage because you have been married an entire five years!! Wow! How could I ever live my life without your wealth of knowledge and experience?

Oh, by the way....your Christian hypocrisy is showing...you might want to fix that up a bit.

Literotica Scheduled Maintenance

According to my calculations, Literotica will be down from 6pm British Summer Time tomorrow for five hours.

I'm at a meeting at 6pm, and will be for several hours. The impact of the loss of Literotica will be minimal. :)

I hope.

Actually, it's scheduled to be down for only four hours.

Unless the Imperial Hour is shorter than the American hour?

No. I don't think any Lit scheduled maintenance has ever been completed in the scheduled time.

Five hours is my optimistic assessment (from a former computer tech guy).

For the last couple of years, the doorknob on my bedroom door has been deteriorating. At first it was just the house shifting a little so that you needed to angle the bolt into the slot in the wall so that it would stay closed. It's a shitty house, so this only bothered me a little bit. Then, the last year or so, the spring inside the bolt has been deteriorating, and it has taken more and more of a twist of the knob to open the door. The last few weeks, it didn't matter how much I twisted, it didn't move the bolt enough to clear the wall. It was essentially broken.

On Saturday, I replaced the entire assembly. It works fine now. I twist the knob, and my door opens smooth and silently. I love having a working doorknob on my bedroom door. :D
