I was playing poker on Facebook last night before bed, and at least half of the cards that I got were Aces. Two hands were pocket Aces. I more than tripled my chips. It was quite fun :D

I stay away from the gambling games on Facebook. Mostly because it will make me just want to drive to the casino and spend money that I shouldn't.

More of a Mafia Wars guy...

My ignore list has never held more than three people, and only that many for about 24 hours...

Is it my tolerance level, or my age-related inability to be shocked by anything?

I think it's your tolerance level, my good sir. Desensitization to sensationalism is kind of par for the course around these parts.

I never put people on ignore for shocking me, only for being annoying egomaniacs or crybabies.

But...

Those two categories cover most of us. After all we are authors. We must be egomaniacs to think that anyone will read what we write.

Just for a moment, for one solitary moment, think how wonderful the world is with books in it. Honest, thought-provoking, entertaining literature that you can hold in your hand. We all love this site - read the stories on it gladly - but there comes a time when we long to pick up a book, to smell the ink on the pages, run our fingers along the words on the paper. Long to escape into different worlds, both real and imaginary.

Never give up on books. Teach your kids how to read. Read to them too. If it were not for books, where would Literotica have come from?

Amen!

 I'm a librarian, can ya tell?

There is a point when you get so tired of trying to figure out the insanity that is this assignment that I think 'if all else fails chose c..if need two chose c,d' :D

Wonder if that will work on my final ..NOT! Or maybe instead of writing the essay and doing the coding project that they want I could write an extensive essay on how they failed in teaching this class. Would be best failing feeling ever! :D

So tomorrow is the day that I drive my sister down to Atlantic City for a bit of gambling fun. She has had the children for the last year due to her husband being in Iraq, and now that he is back I am treating her to some away time while he watches over them.

And as the day approaches, I am not worried about losing all of my money. I'm not bringing that much and I have lost more before. No, I'm more worried about bumping into that woman again, as my sister and I both like to play at the same casino where I bumped into her the last two times...
