My captain of the wrestling team and President of the Moody Slackers club never helped me.

Being captain means leadership. When I took Career Development in College, they actually reccomended putting that kind of thing on your resume. Esp. if you didn't have much in the way of job experience. They said it showed leadership skills and time management skills.

At work I spent my day being verbally abused and having to keep up the professional veneer.

I have a colleague who recently went on a course on how to cope with this kind of thing, and she was told to imagine that she was in the USS Enterprise, and every time someone told her to fuck off, she should imagine that the shields were up and deflecting all the hurtful words.

Today I found myself wishing that my USS Enterprise had some nuclear missiles, which could take out all the fucking arseholes at the click of a button. It sounds cruel, but the world would be a much better place without some of them. The phrase "drowned at birth" springs to mind.

I really can't be fucked with this much longer. I have too much self-respect. Reason is my only permitted weapon against people who are completely beyond reason.

I'm wondering how long it'll be before I go through a Lester Vernon (American Beauty) style realisation and suddenly start saying and doing what the fuck I want. At the moment, I think I'd thoroughly enjoy it.
