Me too! my biscuits never rise, they're always sort of flat and crispy instead of fluffy. I think the "fluff" comes from shortening, which I don't use because of the trans fats; I use butter and maybe it gives them a firmer crumb. *shrug*

Bisquits and gravy ... mmmmm. I bought ingredients for some yesterday. It's one of our usual weekend meals.
