i don't much mind cockroaches. They're kind of nifty bugs. That being said, i CAN say i'm sick and tired of having to squish at least one every time i get into my shower.

There are cetain decided advantages to living in a cold climate and a single family home. No roaches is high among them.

We're in a single family home. And i've had roaches in a cold climate before. Like i said, they don't bother me much. It just gets old finding them crawling up from the drain in my shower.

Really? I found that above around the 44th parallel or so (in the midwest) they don't seem to be found (although I'm sure there are exceptions.) In a high rise in Chicago several decades ago I had to keep food in sealed containers and garbage in the fridge. Go north 100 miles, and it doesn't seem to matter what you do - no bugs (again, I'm sure there are exceptions).
