Damn you to hell, Christopher Columbus! Back when the world was flat, we didn't have this nonsense of it getting dark at 5:00 p.m. It was 12 hours of light and 12 hours of dark, all the livelong year. And there was none of this time zones suck business, either - if it was noon here, it was noon there, and everywhere else.

Bah! Fry, Genovese!

3 Minutes!

Why did you need to have this conversation right now during the last 3 minutes of the program I'd just spent the last 57 minutes watching? Did you think I wasn't interested in how it all turned out?

And while we're on the subject of timing...why must we have these conversations right before I go to bed? You know I have trouble sleeping. Can't I just get relaxed and quietly go off to bed without the turmoil?

Shouldn't we have had this conversation nine hours ago when you agreed with what I was doing? Instead of now when I'm no longer right because you have changed your mind on the subject?

Those vulnerable moments between sleep and wakefulness are the worst - trying for a second not to think about the truth.

Having been as low as a human being can get and still surviving I can promise you this.

It gets better.

You know, the idea that Columbus disproved that the earth was flat is a myth, largely created by Washington Irving. Indeed, the idea that it was ever the accepted theory of post-Classical academia (to include the Church) that the Earth is flat is a myth.

Edited to add: I forgot the blurt part of my isolated blurt—and violated the isolated portion. Anyway, I don't enjoy that.

I can do this much longer. I'm fed up of being told when I have to get up, what kind of thing I should wear, and being given a time during which I must eat my lunch.

For fuck's sake! I'm not a fucking robot! Nor one of those characters that pop out of a cuckoo clock at set times.

Roll on work-at-home, roll on flexitime, roll on driving around the Brecon Beacons and getting paid for it.

I so want this job...

Fucking Artists!
I'm reaching the point where I'm going to say NO - enough is enough - I'm fed up with your attitudes, I'm fed up with no 'thanks', and I'm fed up with your stupidity.

You wonder why Institutions have curators - it's so they don't have to deal with YOU. I deal with you and I'm fed up with trying to satisfy your ever increasing demands. You have an exhibition - be satisfied. I'm not going to spend the next three days trying to 'sell' an idea that can't be funded, that I don't understand and is less a proposal than a manifesto.

Not a happy bunny!

(unrelated)

It's been ten years, and although I occasionally wonder if you ever found a place in the sun, I don't worry constantly anymore. We were pen pals, and for a while, we were a shadow of friends, but Sweden is a long, long way from here, and distance makes friendships hard.

You looked great on t.v. though, and your voice was as familiar as ever, despite the language barrier. I always wondered if you were okay, if the depression and anger at what life had handed you had ever lifted and let you breathe- it seems it did. You looked happy and relaxed, and I found myself smiling, nodding and thinking:

"All right then, Ghanima. It's nice to know that there's no need to worry about at least one of the ones I have no right to worry over."

Don't try to confuse me with the facts - somebody has to be blamed for this deploreable situation, and I nominate the Genevese.

They mostly aren't really good until after they've been dead a while anyway, it seems.

and now it's stuck in mine. Thank you very much.

Morning all, I hope everyone slept better than I did and woke in a happier mood.
