My reality checks keep bouncing.....

I'd love to come for a visit, it would be good for me..... only problem is I'm still dealing with stuff from my mom's funeral and of course my idiot real sister..... I've got a trip planned for the last half of this month to go to Tennesee and Alabama... part family business and part vacation.... first for a vacation in far to many years.....

I'll trying to work in time for a visit over to my favorite Lezbeans.....

It might be short but i'll make time....

It is, but only if you live in the U.S. ;)

Spoken like a true patriot. What ever happened to 'statesmen'? All we have now are polititions, and you know what Mark Twain said about them. I put it here for your recall.

Suppose you were an idiot. And suppose you were a member of Congress. But I repeat myself. -- Mark Twain

Unrelated.

We're Canadians. We do some things differently here. If you don't agree with it, tough shit.

I love it when those muscles are sore. I just wish it was for a different reason. *sigh*

I want to buy this sooooo bad:
What a darling and absurdly impractical vehicle. It looks like the old vee-dub dune buggies, but those back tires suggest it's got some big powerful motor. Specs?

It is an old vee-dub dune buggy. I've been looking for one for a while, (as a toy, not a daily driver) but lack of funds and very few good ones left in new england have complicated my search. If I was in Cali I'd have no problems.

No specs were listed, old air cooled beetle engine (figure 60-110 horse depending on tuning) so I suspect the tires are mostly for effect. :D

Back in the day they were pretty inexpensive. They may becoming rare birds though, so that may have changed. That vehicle would be illegal as hell today, unless it were built on a platform created before the regs making a new one illegal were imposed.

Here ya go: http://www.thesamba.com/vw/classifieds/. Something that runs and isn't falling apart is $5000 to $15000. That little darling in your pic is probably $8-12k or so.

I looked at the old 1960s and 1970s VW vans in there - what a trip down memory lane. The first time I did - um, a certain electric kool aid substance - was in a true hippy van, a decrepit VW painted in American flag stars and stripes, owned by a genuine unwashed, long-haired, bearded hippie. A while back an old guy-friend my age was reminiscing wistfully that when he was 20 he almost bought one of the camper versions: "That would have changed my life, maybe it would have gone in a totally different direction . . . "
