Vana, if that's you in your avatar picture, you needn't worry.

The picture is of an intelligent, open-minded and (dare I say it?) attractive woman. It looks like it was snapped while you were having a good conversation with somebody -- whether Sam or someone else I don't know.

If you weren't attached, I would definitely make your acquaintance. Asking you out ... I don't know, unless for lunch or a soft drink or a trip to the bookstore/coffee shop. Yes, Sam is more than welcome if you both had a preference.
