ISO Editor for tale

Hello,

I am in search of someone to edit the story I am currently working on. It's a rather lengthy tale, and it may work best if broken into multiple parts and run as a serial, which is one of the decisions I'm looking for assistance with.

I'm seeking the normal grammatical and punctuation help, but would also like someone to take a look at the characterizations and the dialog as well. I think I've done a bang-up job.

Please see my signature for examples of my writing, but this new tale is somewhere between Best Friends Forever, A Timeless Love, and Small Town Whore in tone and subject matter.

Please let me know if you are interested. I can send the story as an attachment (.txt file) or dumped into an email, if you prefer. I only ask that serious editors respond, not people who want to read the story. I promise, one way or another it will be posted soon.

I also credit my editor in the opening paragraph (of each post if serialized).

I thought a sample might be helpful...

Kaley hitched up her tight, low-cut pants and strode over to the entry ramp. She was dressed mostly in black, pants, vest, and soft, calf-length boots. Her short sleeved shirt was white, and had a squared neck. Other than that, the only thing Kaley had on her was the large chronometer on her wrist, held on by a thick leather band.

Kaley marched purposefully up the ramp into the small entry, from which one could access areas of engineering, as well as maintenance hatches. There was also the lift that rose up to the crew/passenger decks, lifeline of the ship. What caught her attention though was the tall, handsome man who was arguing with an analyst from the Port Authority.

He was tall and well built, maybe twenty years older than she was, with a handsome face and sandy hair, cut short. His neck was thick and his shoulders and chest were broad and looked powerful. The sleeves on his white shirt were rolled up nearly to his elbows, exposing muscular forearms. His pants were brown, and he wore brown heavy workboots. She guessed he was an engineer, and she wondered if fraternization was frowned on.

The analyst stormed past Kaley and down the ramp, and she walked right up to the big man and looked up into his handsome, smiling face. His brown eyes seemed to twinkle merrily as he regarded her.

"My name is Kaley Sanches, and I was told to report to Captain Hahn for employment," Kaley said, sticking out her hand. He took it in his much larger, calloused hand and shook.

"I'm Captain Hahn," he said. His voice was deep but soft and smooth, like fine sand whispering over rock. "Ranger says you're perfect for the job, and I have to say that so far I agree." Another male, a bald humanoid nearly as tall as Captain Hahn, but rail thin stood at the Captain's elbow, silent. He wore large green lenses over his eyes and a drab green coverall.

"Ranger didn't say exactly what my duties would be," Kaley said, slightly nervous now. She brushed her hair back behind her ear and saw the Captain's eyes soften.

Not Sure What An ISO Editor Is

I've heard the acronym ISO before but not as it relates to writing. Regardless...

The snippet you've provided indicates good writing. But I saw no indication of the type of story this is, and this cannot be determined by the snippet you give us - lesbian, straight, gay, and so on.

Also, "large" is a relative term. How many Word pages?

I'm busy now and likely will be for the rest of the weekend. If you provide more details I may volunteer as long as you're patient.... and have lots of gold, lol.

Sorry for any confusion.

ISO - In Search Of

The story itself currently looks to be around 75 Word pages (12pt, single-spaced), which is why I'm looking at the possibility of posting it as a serial.

As far as the type of story, well I'd have to say Sci-Fi, just as a catch-all. There's a Romance story at the heart, and a few Erotic Encounters. There's implied (may be fleshed out) Lesbian Sex, and even possibly Non-Human.

It's a Novel/Novella, but I'd like more than 12 people to read it.
