Islamic & Christian Fundamentalism--What's the difference?

God should hit us with a bigass spacerock and start over from scratch.

She will. It may take awhile but eventually this world will get hit by another dinosaur killer or something close. We better have self-sustaining colonies off world by then. Or all this work and talk, good or bad will be for nowt.

I'm going to post this for BB. It's a must read.

On why we have to KILL ALL RACISTS, HOMOPHOBES and ISLAMAPHOBES.

Because the authorities will NOT PROTECT minorities, gays, and Muslims.

***************

It really IS this simple, BB. It is not against the law to HATE someone and wish them dead or hope and pray they die a miserable death even for the most bizarre and irrational of reasons, be they religious or otherwise.

Therefore, the authorities may investigate, but WILL NOT arrest (much less kill) MUSLIMS for the mere expression of hate directed at YOU for the same reason they may investigate but will not arrest YOU for a similar expression of hate directed against MUSLIMS.

To say that all Muslims are not militant Jihadists but that all militant Jihadists are Muslim is no more significant to justify apprehension and detainment to prevent PROBABLE CRIMINAL ACTION than it is to say the following:

Not every spouse with a volatile temper will assault or kill their husband or wife, but everyone ultimately guilty of spousal abuse will invariably have a history of a volatile temper.

Not every person who has an argument or grievance with their employer will eventually commit a horrific crime of workplace violence, but every person who commits a crime of workplace violence invariably had a grievance with an employer or co-worker.

Not everyone who enters a bank is a criminal intent on committing an armed robbery. Most are merely customers. But anyone who robs a bank almost invariably walks inside.

Your inability to make a distinction of criminal guilt or innocence merely on the basis of someone's expressed emotions as well as your hypocrisy of failing to recognize your OWN qualification for imprisonment or execution by the very ENFORCEMENT STANDARD you propose is truly pathological. You are surely clinically mentally impaired.

You should find some measure of relief in the fact that religious fundamentalism and racism is ALWAYS an expression of IGNORANCE, but not all or even MOST IGNORANCE rises to the level of criminality. You should find comfort in that because it is the only thing keeping YOU out of jail.
So what you are saying is

Should act after the fact, alwsys

Although I think you're completely wasting your time trying to prod sense into BusyBooby, I do like that you and others keep trying.

I wonder what things would be like if ever a day comes when folks stop trying to help others to see good sense.

The responsibility of upholding equal rights, freedoms, and justice for all - even for those that have different religious or political beliefs - is toughest of all during times like the mass shootings, terrorist bombings, and other horrible crimes committed against the innocent, but it is the maintenance of this responsibility that affords us the rights and freedoms we all enjoy, come to expect, and at times take for granted.

Sez the one who insults posters over their older age, their health, or their syntax ertors due to ESL etc., and who stalks posters with homophobic and anti-trans slurrs and disgusting pics.

Wow, what a pompous imbecile…

Dude, not pisters.

Just lil' ol' racist attention seeking homophobic histrionic drama llama you. :rose:
Sorry dude, I'm out of your league.

My cup of tea are only posters who have at least a College degree or who are autodidacts.

And not 86- es who hide their incompetence or creepiness under a self-righteous venner of "I'm so kumbaya".

You want change? Put a halt to gerrymandering, and work on building your bench from the bottom up. Work now on the second part, don't wait for the first part to be achieved.

Here are some statements from bible-belt Christian Fundamentalists:

* * * *

Charles L. Worley of Providence Road Baptist Church in Maiden, N.C., condemns President Obama's http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/...terview-robin-roberts-abc-news_n_1503311.html [endorsement of same sex marriage], while calling for gays and lesbians to be put in an electrified pen and ultimately killed off.

Build a great, big, large fence -- 150 or 100 mile long -- put all the lesbians in there, Worley suggests [in the clip, reportedly filmed on May 13].

He continues: Do the same thing for the queers and the homosexuals and have that fence electrified so they can't get out...and you know what, in a few years, they'll die out...do you know why? They can't reproduce!

Note that Charles L. Worley, the North Carolina pastor, includes lesbians in his call to put them in an electrified fence to kill them off.

More preachers:

Pastor Sean Harris of the Berean Baptist Church in Fayetteville: if he is effeminate and crack that wrist if he is limp-wristed.

Similarly, Tim Rabon, condemned states such as Massachusetts, Connecticut and Maryland which have already re-defined marriage to include lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) couples before asking his congregants, "What is stopping them from refining marriage from a person and a beast?" We're not far from that.

Pastor Suggests Gays Should Be Prosecuted Like They Were Historically:
Ron Baity, founding pastor of Winston-Salem's Berean Baptist Church and head of the anti-marriage equality organization Return America, referred to homosexuality as a perverted lifestyle in a Sunday sermon before telling his congregation that lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) people should be prosecuted. For 300 years, we had laws that would prosecute that lifestyle. We've gone down the wrong path. We've become so dumb that we have accepted a lie for the truth, and we've...discarded the truth on the shoals of shipwreck.

Victoria Jackson, the former Saturday Night Live star [said] Did you see Glee this week? Sickening! And, besides shoving the gay thing down our throats, they made a mockery of Christians - again! I wonder what their agenda is? Hey, producers of Glee - what's your agenda? One-way tolerance? She later appeared on Showbiz Tonight to clarify her thoughts. Well, it doesn't matter what I think. What matters is what the Bible says.

Posted by John Celock: 05/19/2012 12:55 pm:

A Mississippi state lawmaker quoted a Bible passage on Facebook calling for gay men to be put to death; has taken to the social networking site again to refuse to apologize for the remark.
Rep. Andy Gipson (R-Braxton) Friday to say that although he has been receiving emails and calls [with regard to his statement], he will not say he's sorry. The emails have come in response to a petition calling on the lawmaker to issue an apology and to meet with LGBT groups in Mississippi.

To be clear, I want the world to know that I do not, cannot, and will not apologize for the inspired truth of God's Word. It is one thing that will never 'change, Gipson wrote. Anyone who knows me knows I also believe that all people are created in God's image, and that all people are loved by God, so much so that He gave us the truth of His Word which convicts us of the reality and guilt of our sin, and He gave us His Son Jesus who paid the full penalty for all our sins, by His grace through our faith in Him as we repent of our sin. It is this message that I preach every Sunday. I sincerely pray God will reach someone through this message.

Gipson is a Baptist minister and a business lawyer when not serving in the Legislature. He notes that his family are of the Christian faith, and are affiliated with the Southern Baptist Convention.

The passage from Leviticus that Gipson first cited reads: If a man has sexual relations with a man as one does with a woman, both of them have done what is detestable. They are to be put to death; their blood will be on their own heads.

On Facebook at least, Gipson has received overwhelming support for his original comments and his refusal to apologize. Eighty-three people have liked his post, and he's received dozens of supportive comments, including praise for supporting God and sticking to his original message:

I stand with you my friend. ... GOD is in control ... no place for Gays,; Ted W. Cole.

Gipson, 35, has served in the Mississippi Legislature since 2008. He chairs a judiciary committee.

I copied those quotes a couple of years ago. Much has happened since then, but change their minds? I doubt it.

But what's the difference between what happened in Orlando and what these Christian Fundamentalists have said (and are probably still saying, just not so openly--maybe)?

Both the Islamist Fundamentals and their Christian brethren believe similarly, but Islam, for a great (big) part, has no laws such as we have. Other than that there are some differences, but not in how they think and feel about anything LGBT. Christian Fundamentalists would kill, as their words indicate, but are constrained by our legal system (as a few have found out). The Islamists aren't.

The hate and ignorance is a shame!

Peace, and would that it were so.

w
The current body count and the current amount of media and political party lies that make excuses and defend the terrorist hate filled cult religion and then welcomes these same said terrorist nut cult members into our nation to kill more people while blaming the NRA or some black rifle that looks scary to bed wetter's

The Christians aren't killing you they sell bibles and chicken sandwiches aduh!

Stop your bullshit posturing. You're not seeking a restraining order and you have consistently advocated "proactive" measures against Muslims which are clearly illegal and heinous and could and SHOULD just as easily be applied against you for the same expressions of hatred you make against them were your insane "proactive" measures actually "law".

Who do you think you're kidding?

Yes be proactive. Get rid of guns before next shooting. Apparently in England you have to make your own gun. And to show how non-discriminatory you are disarm everyone not just the Muslims. Wouldn't it be nice to have gun attacks so rare that folk wonder how they even got a gun?

Every leader hasta learn what Napoleon learned about leadership. Napoleon said, I WANTED TO GO TO LONDON, IT WAS MUCH CLOSER THAN MOSCOW, BUT MY ARMY WANTED TO GO TO MOSCOW. LEADERS FOLLOW FROM THE FRONT.

I say all the other blabbering is bull shit.

As a psychotherapist my practice involved adding oprions to peoples' lives NOT taking options away. Homicide is a useful tool.

I think it's interesting that when a Muslim kills homosexuals because Leviticus there's more screaming to ban Muslims entering the US, put all Muslims on a watch list and close Mosques, yet when a WASP kills homosexuals because Leviticus there's complete silence about anything other than guns and mental health, aside from the religious extremists celebrating the death of another sodomite.
