Ironically the overwhelming vast majority of Trump voters don't listen to a thing Trump says. If they did they'd have to pause and critically reflect on why they are voting for someone with obvious alzheimers and dementia who can't get through one speech without massive and protracted slurring, word salad, sweating, tangential rambling and paranoia.

That's the point; no, according to the Constitution he is NOT eligible. Not according to the 14th amendment, section 3:


No person shall be a Senator or Representative in Congress, or elector of President and Vice-President, or hold any office, civil or military, under the United States, or under any State, who, having previously taken an oath, as a member of Congress, or as an officer of the United States, or as a member of any State legislature, or as an executive or judicial officer of any State, to support the Constitution of the United States, shall have engaged in insurrection or rebellion against the same, or given aid or comfort to the enemies thereof. But Congress may by a vote of two-thirds of each House, remove such disability.

This was written with the express purpose to prevent someone like Trump from ever holding public elected office in the United States government, after being responsible for what he did.

It's pretty clear as written. There really isn't much room for debate. According to the Constitution, Trump committed an act of insurrection and rebellion. Ergo, he is not eligable to hold office.

I am no supporter of the orange dictator but until he is found guilty of engaging in an insurrection, he is still technically eligible. If the Supreme Court upholds the CO ruling of his eligibility then we have something.

Donald has more troubles. He is now pleading for the court to extend his timeline for delivery of the bond for E. Jean Carroll's 83.3m. He filed an 'emergency extension.' That's humor in writing.

A week ago, his attorney shamefacedly filed a request for the judge to take $100m in lieu of the $454m for the fraud case that is nearing. 'He's so wealthy, anybody and everybody knows he will be good for the money, judge, so just take the 100m, and let's get on with the appeal.'

BTW the judge said no dice.

Interestingly, he offered $100m for the second case and then showed up to tell the judge he didn't have the funds for the first one; a few days later, he only needed 83.3m, which is due Monday. Why didn't he use that $100m?

Even Elon Musk turned him down for a loan when Trump hit him up the other day.

Time is ticking. Keep an eye on the sleight of hand maneuvers.

3. He doesn't have tactics. That would require planning, and Trump doesn't plan, he reacts.

Tonight's Presidential State of the Unition Address was delivered with good and strident oldster, Mr. Biden, and layed out many future goals and accomplishments. People looking for pitfalls or in DT's case things he could make fun of didn't get them.

As for Trump's party response, it was delivered by a sweet smiling forty-year mom serving her first term in office as a representative of Alabama. I don't think she carried the counter message well. Never mentioned anything the Republicans propose to do to overcome the 'horrible' laundry list of things Biden had done.

Qualifications for the Presidency are light in the Constitution. On character, there are none at all. Trump met them the first time he ran. It appears uncertain whether he exhibits the traits that mark a good presidency the second time, although his MAGA crowd cheers for him. Is he really 'that' well qualified to run again?
