Is this what they mean by a "halfway house?"

It is 358 miles from Fallon Nevada to Las Vegas Nevada, via US 95. This is what is approxiamtely 180 miles from either end.

(the sign says "Cottontail Ranch" and it's the only building within about 30 miles in any direction.)

Another one:

This one is about 150 miles north of Las Vegas.

These are the only two I took pictures of, because most are further back from the road and hidden in a grove of trees.

I didn't get a picture of the one that advertises "free coffee and showers for truckers." or "Brothel: Angels Ladies" three miles north of Beatty Nevada which is the closest to Las Vegas at a mere 112 miles (on US 95)

A man with a decent budget could turn this six-hour drive into a weeks vacation provided he took his vitamins. :p

They look like one of the places you stop at for a quick potty/snack/stretch your legs break. You know, like when the sign says, the next available conveniences are 150 miles.

The first one has a helicopter in it, so we know it's really a government run operation! :D

Well, if you think about it, that's exactly what they are. :p

Except the signs on US 95 say "next gas 93 miles" and "Open Range: Cattle on road next 93 miles."

OBBW, That's not a helicopter in the first picture, it's a yard light. It was the "Mustang Ranch" that the IRS took over (and ran for six months before they closed it down.)

PS: I posted these as research for any authors who want to set a story in a Nevada brothel. These two are pretty typical arrangements.
