Okay.. I know you should never really trust anything you read in a fiction novel, but this has just been on my mind ever since I read

"Choosers of the Slain" by John Ringo

The hero of the story in addition to being an Elite ex-SEAL (aren't they all :D), is also a very skilled lover. So good in fact that he can get most of his bedded ladies to climax repeatedly, in some cases so often and so rapidfire that they go temporarily blind due to 'low blood flow to the optic nerve'.

Which is kinda freaky.....but...in a naughty masculine sort of way, really cool ^_^. SO I must know is this really possible..or just wishful thinking of male prowess?

i think that's crap, to be honest...the optic nerve is, after all, a nerve, and hence not part of the circulatory system.

Obviously I'm reading the wrong Baen sci-fi series. While the Honor Harrington books by David Weber have included one female character going half-blind, it was more a result of being shot in the face than any particularly skilled lovers she may have had (but don't worry, a few surguries and she was good as new. Apparantly shooting body parts off of her only makes her angry.) :D

sounds like a well researched piece of rubbish to me!!! Don't think I'd like to go blind regardless of how good the sex was...

And just because the optic nerve is a nerve doesn't mean that it doesn't have a blood supply

This isn't all that far fetched actually. I have had problems in the past due to decreased blood flow from sexual activity. I recall being at a titty bar once, and my cock was so hard for so long, that my blood pressure dropped drastically. I got dissy, fell off my stool and hit my head on the tip rail. Woke up in the hospital a few hours later.

Guess that's what they mean about erections lasting more than 4 hours being dangerous, eh?

F'd Blind?

I don't know about blind, but my wife has had rapid fire multiple orgasms that look like shes convulsing. This is usually followed be a period where she is near unconscious and paralyzed. When she comes around from this, she is sexually energized and wanting MORE!
SO the idea of blindness due to blood flow change isn't so outrageous in my experience. The unconsciousness and paralysis are not just a voluntary response, a way she chooses to cool down, she is completely helpless. A dramatic change in blood flow could be the explanation.

The French call orgasms, "Le Petite Mort" -- Little Death -- for a reason. But the reason isn't "low blood flow" its "low blood pressure" that causes post-orgasm fainting, tunnel vision, and general lethargy.

The mechanism is probably associated with Adreneline's role in arousal and a "post-adreneline crash" similar to the "faint with relief" feeling you get after a close call on the highway.

Makes sense..still doubt i could do it though...Wouldn't hurt to try however..any volunteers? :p
