Is this legit or not?

Okay, after hearing that there are sites out there which do nothing than to skim over large erotica sites and stealing work published there, I did a little keyword search on my own story chapters, just to be sure that my stuff hasn't landed anywhere but Lit.

To my surprise, I did actually find out that my story landed on a site called

yakeworldgfw.appspot.com.

But when I tried to get some background info on it, all things pointed back to Lit again, as if this thing was a mirror or something. Is anybody in the know regarding this? I don't want to look like a complete idiot running to Laurel only to realize this is indeed an app mirror for Lit or stuff.

Thanks for your time!

No, it's not legit. They have no right to publish it without consent.

My story "Wild Things Have No Names" has shown up on freigermanporno. Fortunately, all they did was rip a little segment from chapter four out of it and added some obviously different writing as the ending. It was only 1,100 words out of a 33k story, so no big issue as long as I'm not blocked from amazon taking it. I'm just about to publish it on smashwords.

Oddly, the kept my nod to my editor at the time, estragon, in the preamble and the segment they published is at least 3000 words into the story.

About all you can do is contact the website, tell them it's your story, and request that it be taken down. Remain calm. They didn't post it. They don't know where it came from.

I may be out of luck with getting it removed as the story is in English and it's on a German site.

I've seen this on other sites as well. The story is listed, but if you click on the author name it goes back to lit.

I don;t think they have permission to take the stories, but if it can actually send people over to lit, my thought is Laurel may not care.

But that is my thought on it so if you want to check with her it couldn't hurt.

If you do try and contact Laurel, use a PM and not e-mail.

It made me wonder, since usually everything associated with Lit has the Literotica domain name in it.

I'll ask Laurel on how to go from here, thanks for your input!

That depends. There's at least one site that seems to have an automated harvesting process going, in order to rip off Lit for click-fodder content. They pretend to be publishing user submissions, but the fact that they backdate the posting dates to before the original appearance on Lit suggests bad faith.

I think the URL given in the OP is just another portal into Literotica. Everything is set up as Literotica and it's up to date as of today's listings.

True; they don't appear to be misrepresenting anything. Not a very efficient search engine, though. When I see something like this I don't get particularly bothered. I've found some of my stories posted elsewhere, but with full credit given to me. It's the ones who try to pawn them off as their own that get my goat.

Manu put something out a little while back that said Lit was now on a phone app. Maybe this is it.

Again, I think that if anyone who was really interested in pursuing it asked Laurel or Manu, they'd find this is just another platform for getting into Literotica--probably via cell phone. That it belongs to Literotica.

(TxRad's and my posting crossed in the ether.)
