I'm not sure how to ask this in a non-public way.
And I really want to know.

Is it okay to be vile, mean and wretched....then have everything be fine because a week has passed?

Perhaps there have been a host of private apologies, but I remember barely a week ago a thread full of some of the most cutting, stinging and just plain mean remarks very personally mentioned. It seems about ten specific women on this board got a dose of "here are all the reasons I think you suck...."

And, for the rest of us...well, we were hoped to "rot."

Does a week=an amnesia pill?

I really don't get it. As usual.

And yes, I'm ready to be crucified for starting this thread.
However, I'd really like feedback instead.

I think my head cold has robbed me of my memory.

For the life of me, I can't remember what thread you're referring to.

Head cold or not, Ruby, there are, it seems, hundreds of new threads everyday. You're forgiven for not remembering each and every one! ;)

I don't have the inclination to dig it up...but it was basically a list of "All the People here I hate and Why.." It was very mean and spiteful, and the last line read something like, "For the rest of you...I hope you all rot."

Have I sufficiently jogged your memory or left you more in the dark?

Yikes, that sounds particularly nasty. But I still don't remember it. Will you PM me the link?

With the search function disabled...

It is hard to find what I wanted to from yesterday or the day before, let alone last week.

The memory on the BB always appeared to me to be fickle at the very least, it is dependent upon those who were on the BB last week being on the BB this week at roughly the same times.

Looking at the dynamics of the BB, they change as the regular members come and go during their day's, they also change depending on the weather and whats on TV at any given time.

If you are the only person who is on now who was on last week at the time you were talking about then the BB memory is your memory, if there are a couple or more who shared the time last week with you you are as likely to get the same threads draged back if they can just be found.

EZ

Wasn't that Marxist's thread? No one took that seriously, hon! But to answer your question, yes...things go back to normal fairly well after a big blow up...it's just the way it is! :)

You're really sweet, estevie. :rose:

I'm still curious...do people really forget so easily?
I think Ezzy makes a great point of logistics...so much has to do with who is on the board when and of them, who really cares anyways!

*still curious*

.

edited cause it isn't worth the effort to care anymore.

The beauty of lit is the ability to engage with whom you like and ignore those you don't.

If someone is hurtful or angers me, I can easily ignore them and their posts. No. I don't imagine all of the "victims" of the thread in question have forgotten, they simply are moving on.

It isn't like real life, where you might run into someone at the local store and have a few uncomfortable moments or even continue the rant. You just move on.

For the sake of harmony on the bb I won't say what I am thinking. But I remember the thread and the one before that and the one before that all detailing the same behaviour of a certain person. A certain person that will never change because you have to actually care if you hurt someone to change.

ooh...i'm too new to know but only one thread.
well, whether or not you spoke your mind, thanks for the feedback. :)

I don't think anyone will 'forget', Alex...but here is to hoping the peace remains. :)

To some people it is. Some people simply take stuff like that in stride, especially if they know the person and think they were just upset and didn't mean it. *shrug*

Alex

I always like your posts but this is a dangerous thread - it's like picking at a scab when you know the wound underneath isn't really healed.

The people involved in the thread you mentioned certainly haven't forgotten and probably are still smarting somewhat. The rest of us who remember it would rather forget it and move on without referring to something unpleasant that interrupted our enjoyment of a fantastic place.

I hope that answers your curiosity sufficiently to allow this to now sink.

Sorry, Alex absolutely no offence intended and I understand why you asked but, you know, best forgotten by the majority of us.

Hey Alex,

Relaaaaax, the women of Lit. are all lesbo friendly and love each other unconditionally with big big moist hugs.:)

Don't stir the pot, chica, Marxist is getting off on the effervescent jasmine and lavenders stewing and broiling for the next big blowout.

<<Kisses>>

Marxist,

LMAO, I had forgotten that part...many pardons, darlin' :D

I get it, I get it...

I hear you all...no sweat, consider the proverbial key (that is the one that locked my lips) thrown away. I was just wondering and thought it was a valid question.

I got the point. I just know I'd be pissed. But it's not me.

Wow, the diplomacy in here is overwhelming! :D

*spanking herself for being bad*

ouch, that feels good...a piece of humble pie with a side of spanking.
