Majority of Republicans Say Party Shouldn't Accept Elected Officials Who Criticize Trump

Sixty-three percent of Republicans said their party shouldn't accept elected officials who openly criticize Trump, the Pew Research Center found

On the surface, it sounds really, really stupid and potentially dangerous.

But then you wonder if it won't cause the split necessary to create the second party they've been talking about for a year or more.

Group think = bad according to the Trump sycophants.

So that's a conundrum.

ESPN just suspended Sage Steele for criticizing Obama.

Wrong again.

Steele took offense to ESPN's COVID-19 vaccine mandate, calling it "sick" and saying she only received the vaccine out of fear of losing her job.

“I respect everyone's decision. I really do. But to mandate it is sick, and it's scary to me in many ways,” Steele said. "I'm not surprised it got to this point, especially with Disney. I mean, a global company like that."

She commented on sexism in journalism, saying that women "know what [they're] doing" when they wear certain clothes.

“So when you dress like that, I'm not saying you deserve the gross comments, but you know what you're doing when you're putting that outfit on, too,” Steele said. “Like, women are smart, so don't play coy and put it all on the guys.”

Right again:

Steele, appearing on the “Uncut with Jay Cutler” podcast, discussed racial identity and expressed an issue with having to identify as a single race, because she self-identifies as biracial.

“If they make you choose a race, what are you gonna put? Well, both,” said Steele, who’s African-American and Irish/Italian.

When she was told “Barack Obama chose Black and he’s biracial,” Steele took a swipe at the 44th president’s upbringing.

“Well, congratulations to the President, that’s his thing,” she said. “I think that’s fascinating considering his Black dad is nowhere to be found, but his white mom and grandma raised him, but okay. You do you. I’m gonna do me.”

She also had the temerity to point out that Obama's black daddy was AWOL and his white parent and grandparents raised him.

I think that continuing to follow the Trump approach can only be good news for Democrats in elections, so the Republicans can have at it.

There isn't going to be any new Never-Trump-Republican party, because every experienced pol knows how pointless is any third-party movement. Therefore, the ongoing internal struggle between the nationalist-populist Tea Partiers/Trumpers and the pro-biz Old Guard for control of the GOP will continue.
