Obama was never reducing the nations debt. He was never in a position to do so and I don't know that if he were he would have.

Did you ask Bush if he was reducing the deficit? He was a Republican after all and Republicans claim they are fiscally responsible.
How many times did Bush veto spending bills during his eight years in office? How did the over $3 trillion he spent invading and occupying Iraq reduce the deficit? What about the $700 billion he handed over to private industry so they could pay out their bonuses? Did that help to reduce the deficit?

Except Yellen is quite obviously lying because the article I posted from Bloomberg, published two days ago, explicitly says the Fed is trying to ascertain how banks would react to a negative interest rate climate.

To put any politics aside, I went to the government's own website to get the numbers. (Actually, if anything, this favors the President, as it is his Treasury Department that currently controls the website.)
According to the Obama Administration's own Treasury Department, the national debt was about $11 trillion when President Obama took office. It has gone up every year since then and is now well over $18 trillion.
The current budget also runs a deficit.
How does adding over $7 trillion to the debt equate to "reducing" it?
