Apparently, my firefox spell check has decided it is not.

What is the past tense of "Sneak" then?

Sneaked is odd-sounding, and snuck sounds like a snack food marketed to five year olds. Mom, where's my snuck?

My father once accidentally combined "snuck" with "lurked" and came up with the image of someone "slurking around" the darkened areas of the house. We all liked the word so much that it's been in family use ever since.

Hm. Good one. *rubs chin thoughtfully*

SNUCK

SNEAKED

In American English “snuck” has become increasingly common as the past tense of “sneak.” This is one of many cases in which people’s humorously self-conscious use of dialect has influenced others to adopt it as standard and it is now often seen even in sophisticated writing in the US But it is safer to use the traditional form: “sneaked.”

CP special.:)

Sneaked and/or snuck are both, okay,
just don't get caught do it,
you might be tied speadeagled,
and be lashed, tickled or even,
well, I'm sure you get the picture.

What do you use, then?
I think I mostly use snuck, except in professional/formal writing situations.

Similarly, my ex-wife and I came up with "snowl" to describe what cats do. Snarling, sniffing, and prowling. New places need to be snowled...there's a lot of snowlage to take care of here...etc.

Slurking is awesome.

Snuck and sneaked are both okay according to my spell checker.
