I am a relative Newcomer to Lit and I joined this site to read, post and chat about stories that I and others submit. I never intended to use this as a mode for posting personal ads for women. However, I have noticed that some are very outright and all they want is to meet someone, just for sex..and before you all start..No, I guess there isn't anything wrong in that...if that is what people want...at least it's honest LOL.
Reading the ads this morning, before my golf (Clean my balls anyone? )..I notice that most of the unanswered ones are for this type of post...even one lady saying that it would to fast for her, just to jump straight into the swinging scene. Another point I have noticed is that most (not all) of these posts come from VERY new members...the post being their 2nd, 3rd or 4th posting.
Is romance dead? Or am I just an old fart? lol

No, romance isn't dead Ukin, but I think it goes by a different name these days, people seem to have varied opinions about what it entails.
A little TLC goes a long way for me, doesn't have to be flowers all the time or phone calls or gifts, although the actions of a person who is fond of someone do speak volumes, especially little unexpected things that can make one feel so very special.
The sexual aspect of a relationship is usually purely physical, fine by me, but the romance side of things tend to get all wrapped up in emotionality, which I gather some people would rather do without.
My libido is of such an upredictable nature that if the sex is available and mutually desireable, then I'd certainly not decline the opportunity; still it's always nice to be thought of in other sweet ways, even once in a while. To each his/her own, I guess.

Honey...Romance isn't dead!!!!! You're not an old fart either. Different stroke for different folks. There's nothing wrong with sex. There's nothing wrong with having it either. But for me and a lot of the people I do chat with every day. We are here for more than that. And I'd love to meet a lot of my LitMates for more than just sex! It's not dead, it just isn't seen as much. When I do romantic things with my girlfriend, I don't do them in front of others, it's romantic if it's just between the two of you, I think it's more special that way. Whether or not a relationship is romantic is all about the people who are involved in it.

I think most people dream about the romance. I dont however think it is totally dead. I havent had romance in a very long time but am hoping to experience it soon. Everyone needs to be shown in simple gestures how much they are loved and thought of. To make soft slow love to someone is beautiful.
