I joined the link for newTumbl and was successful in using it. Now I see it is no longer available.

Servers and bandwidth cost money. They didn't have many ads.

No notice, no opportunity to retrieve content. Sucks. At least when Tumblr shut down porn, they gave us an opportunity to download our blogs.
