Is lit slowing down?

Is it just me, or is lit incredibly slow today? I click on a link and it takes forever or does not open at all.

I have so much to say!

Earlier today I encountered a database error and couldn't get into Lit at all. Luckily it was back up quickly...or there would have been some nasty withdrawal symptoms!

I encounter the same " slowness ". I will post to a thread & it will take so much time to return me to the BB. I know its not my connection because other pages I am looking @ open very fast.

It does seem slower at different times of the day - mainly when America is awake, which is when I'm awake usually .

Has anyone had the problem "invalid session id" when trying to vote in a poll? I get that all the time and it's starting to piss me off that I can't vote.

Yes - I find it slow too...also, I can't `quote' anything... I click on the appropriate quote - and get an error message... Bugger and damn...does anyone else have this problem? I just get a blank page - not the quote. Just wondered if I'm alone with this...<sigh>.

Well at least you can post...alot of the times when I'm on here I can open the tread...read it...go to reply...but when you hit the submit button...NOTHING!!! Ticks me off I usually end of leaving and when I come back everything I wanted to reply to is on like page 50

It's been terribly slow throughout today!
(Wish it would slow down some of the dang "trolls"!)

I try to post and it will take forever.

It is just a matter of too much traffic for the servers to handle. As mentioned in the last newsletter, they are in the process of getting a new, faster server. This slowdown should go away soon.

Just a thought/observation

Today, like the last few days since one server went down, has been sporadic, but I've noticed something that may or may not be relevant.

Every time the boad is slow to load a page, the next time I refresh the General board index a thread with 1000 or more replies is near the top.

I've long noticed that those long threads take longer to load than short ones, but I'm beginning to believe that simply opening one slows down the entire board until the script is through counting posts to find the last one for however many people are zooming in to see what the latest addition is.

Watch what other threads are active when you get a slow response, and tell me if I'm imagining things.

Its not just the last couple days - its been really slow for weeks - and now search doesn't work at all (which is the only way I've been able to keep up with things because of my schedule)...

But yes - I do recall that Lit is aware of the problem and working on fixing it - so we just need to be patient.
