I think perferences of this type are for the most part subconcious and formed by early experiences. I have always been attracted to big/stout/heafty/beefy men but I have no idea really why I find them so attractive.

No; I consider it personal preference or a superficiality related to weight. If you are superficial or shallow on many levels, then perhaps you should analyze yourself more.

I prefer normal - meaty/thicker men and won't date a skinny man. It's not manly to me; it's not attractive to me.

As much as I adore really large, strong men; that's not what I chose when it came to having children since I wanted my girl to have a greater chance at being average. My family is quite large and I know how it feels to be a bigger person. If I mixed it up with a big guy the poor thing would have been huge. Both of my kids were over eight pounds as it is.

You do what you want and see what her parents look like if you can. If you fall hard for a chubby one then just help get her back on track a bit.

I have never been with a "thin" woman. My gf's have always been on the heavy side. While their wieght never truely bothered me. It was the fact that they were unhealthy.

If you met a woman who had the personality and shared interests that you were looking for, would you automatically write her off because she wasn't thin? If the answer is yes, then I have to say that your desire for a thin woman is indeed shallow.

Then don't worry about it. We all have our physical preferences. I prefer women with meat on their bones and generally don't get turned on by really thin women. But if a woman came along who was everything I was looking for, I wouldn't turn her away because of her size.

Stop worrying about your preference. You aren't shallow.
