put periods at the ends of their sentences?


I've seen so many posts like this lately:

"Haha i know exactly what you mean i do that all the time its so annoying".

Ok- I can deal with the lack of capitalization. I can deal with minor misspellings. It is difficult, however, for me to read people's posts when I can't determine where the end of their damn sentences are.

My first grade students are better at forming sentences.

Does anyone else have this problem?

I think it has something to do with a weird 'internet/email' shorthand some of us have developed. It's a horrible thing, but what're you going to do?

I'm even worse in my emails. My letters though are pristine...if you can read my handwriting.

Yes, Fly, I enjoy cahtting with you. Although you don't use periods, I can at least tell where the ends of your sentences are.

it's only the spelling I cna't help, grammar I will admit I just get lazy to, cause I'm use to useing chats and not like this.

but if you ever get an e-mail from me.... It has periods, and commas, and semi colens and shit.

I don't mean to pick on you Fly.

I'm just a stickler for correct spelling. I'm not perfect with punctuation or grammar, so I don't judge so harshly. But lacking periods at least is just fucking lazy.

I don't buy the excuse of being used to chat. If you've ever chatted with me, you'll know that I use periods and capitalization and all that good stuff. It's simply showing respect for others. A lot like manners.

But I've gotten all tight assed again, so I'll quit.

hmmm ... i agree that its nice to post stuff thats readable... i usually use a lot of triple periods ... like this ... to separate thoughts and sentences ... i hate capitalizing ... guess its just laziness... but i think my posts are very "readable" .. dont u agree ? and btw, the "personal expression" thing is valid too ... i like my style to be unique ... not like other Lit ppl. so there!
