I know that some guys have control, but the majority don't. Add alcohol or drugs into the equation, and it's a definate on mr willie winning the battle. And as you said, you'd do at least half of your friends. Here's a question, if they came to you and asked if you'd do them, or if you're just friends, would you tell them the truth?

I didn't say that most men wouldnt' tell their friends their attractive. Tell a female friend you don't find them attractive and you won't be friends with them for a while. I'm asking if they came up and asked if you'd fuck them if you'd tell the truth.

I was in a band for a couple years with 10 guys and one other chick. I was good friends with these guys and there was certainly attraction but most of them were married so it was a definite no-go regardless of even the horrors of band-affairs. Granted, most of these guys were in their 40's so they've got a bit of an experiential/maturity edge on younger guys, but they're also rock musicians and there was plenty of drinking and smoking going on.

Drunk and locked in a closet together things might have heated up with most of them, but we were all grown up enough to avoid those circumstances and just be good friends. The test of that is how many of their wives were happy to hang out with me.

My ex was roomates with a friend of mine while I lived and worked about an hour away. It was not a moment's concern on my part. The roomate brother/sisterly vibe was in a way, too intimate a friendship to turn into anything sexual.

It's possible. I voted yes. However, I'm with the group that says it's totally dependant upon the people involved. Some people have less impulse control than others.

Which is why a lie might be more believeable than the truth

Makes it much more difficult to be truthful when the person you are talking to is going to mark it up as a "stupid excuse"!

But then I often go for petite, so the example is back to front imo

Possible, but not very common. Man was made one way, and woman was made another.

It's just how we're all wired. But, I do have a few female friends that aren't sexual friends. Very few.

My motor's running all the time. That's just how it is. Now, if I was married, maybe my motor would go to idle more when speaking to women, but right now, Varoooom VarROOOOOOM!! VARROOOM!!

Just speaking for myself here -

all of my very best guy friends who I've had the longest - 2 years, 5 years, 10 years - at some point during our knowing each other, I've slept with them, or had it seriously on my mind for quite a while.

I think I'm just wired that way. If you're cool enough to be really good friends with me, I'm probably going to want to take the relationship to another level, and see where that goes. Sometimes it's just a fun fuck buddy thing, and sometimes it's gotten too deep on my end with the whole unrequited love thing, and then I get cut off. Sigh, grin. And then we're back to the friends thing. As one such friend said, "You're just a horny girl in need of a hug, is that what you're telling me?"

It's a good thing my current sweetie wants sex any time or all the time - I've wasted too many years in my life not getting enough!

Maybe some women & men can be totally platonic, but I'd bet that even if it seems that way on the surface, at least one of the two has contemplated some kind of romantic or sexual situations arising, and how that might go.
