Keep it up. It is like a strong magnet that keeps pulling me back. Kudos to all of you who are posting your stuff. I can't read everything each day, but when I can it is joy.

The combo of poetry forum and porn board creates a dynamic I've never found online anywhere else, Espy. And believe me, I've looked! The people who hang around here are generally dedicated and wanting to learn and practice their writing with others who feel the same. That's the part you can find in other places online. But the porn aspect seems to make the writing more honest: we may hide behind the (relative) anomynity of our user names but we seem to write more openly and honestly than in other places I've explored. I know there's plenty of crap and posturing here, too, but still...Lit is different.

Lately I've been somewhat on the sidelines here, but the combination of poetryand porn got me here.

This is too good and I am too sleepy. I started reading because I was horny and curious--about sixteen at the time. Then I thought heck, I can do that. So out came my first stories that are now long hidden on a hard drive. Along the way these funny words and phrases started finding there way out of my brain, and I tried to make them poems. Yeah, they were not very good, and most still need work today, but it was a way to get rid of stuff that bugged me.

Truth be known, I would never have written a poem if a woman who liked a story I wrote would not have started pushing me to write poetry. I still have that first effort. This women's Haiku is still my fav. Give it a read. I think it is a missed gem at Lit.

Poetry is just fun, painful, challenging, easy, frustrating and fulfilling.

i actually came here because I was writing erotic poetry and need to get it out there. I mostly come here for the poetry. I do like to mix it up with the loons on the gb, but I am just not enough of an arsehole to do well there. I prefer it here. The people are sane and friendly.

i used to write over ar Edit Red when it had a poetry forum brimful of golden-age. Champagne was a fellow writer there, and told me to come on over to check out Lit as it had some excellent poets here. Not too long afterwards i lost internet connection (a soon to be ex breaking the pc and not paying the bills he ran up, then our split) and was offline for about 2 and a half years. when i got back online, the first place i headed to was Edit Red - only to find the talent had mostly dissipated from the poetry forum and it had become a haven for bad writing and anyone who offered suggestions for improvement were decried as haters, stirrers, and disruptive. so i remembered Lit, and hey presto, here i am. Champers was right. this is a great place for talented writers.
