Or do the Helicopters in the commercials for Black Hawk Down just not look right.

I've even looked up real Blackhawks and the design is pretty much the same, but... They just don't look right.

Weird.

Huh?

You know what sucks about not watching any television except late night cable? You become culturally ignorant. Just yesterday, my neighbors were laughing about that one commercial with that one funny guy in it and I had to laugh along with them because I couldn't bear to tell them I had no idea WTF they were talking about.

My aunt never watched TV and never knew what was going on. I always thought she was dorky. Now I'M dorky. WTF.

Mmmm well... If you have an interest in the movie (About the American Somolia disaster in the early 90's) go see it and then take detailed notes, sketches about the Helis.

Or get a TV card so you can watch TV on your computer :)

BTW, you aren't Dorky. TV is a bad addiction, a life sucking add... I'm gonna go watch TV now.

LOL! I don't think TV is necessarily a bad thing, especially cable TV. On cable, there's so much cool, worthwhile programming - plus tons of smut and bad comedies and game shows too. I just spend most of my "TV time" nowadays working on the site or working on my work stuff. Work, work, work. No wonder Siren calls me "boring Laurel". :)

I'll have to check out the movie preview, though.

Or do you have to much time to worry about these things?:p

I already watch too much TV without Cable. And too many movies. God, I hope they don't want me to attend classes and study at college....

Depends on the school. Harvard might want you to study a little. San Diego State wants you to study only beer labels. :p

San Diego State offers majors in beer, hard liquor and comparative alcohols.

Redman and Method Man apparently study the history and folklore of Santa Claus while at Harvard. For example, they talk about ho, ho, ho a lot in the movie.

I should have gone to school there! I've been comparing alcohols since noon. :p

So far, Midori is the new favorite, but the bottle is empty. :( And Parrot Bay is actually better than Malibu, which is surprising because I hate everything else Captian Morgan has to offer.

I wonder if those two are SAG?

So do most students at San Diego State. Sounds like you've already decided on a topic for your Senior Paper. :p

Haven't seen the commercial yet so my post will be mostly speculative. The Black Hawk is still a commissioned aircraft, the special forces use a variant of the Black Hawk called the Pave Hawk. I kinda doubt that the AF gave the movie makers full access to the aircraft. Usually the movie makers will build mock-ups that look very similar but may not fully match the original. It's also possible that if the ones in the commercial have some of the seldom seen add-ons like the refuleing boom, cable lift boom, or the side pods that it may appear "odd".

BTW Laurel, when your neighbors bring up the subject again just say, "ohh, you mean the ones with Cedric the Entertainer in them" and then kinda nod :)

That's pretty much what everyone at San Diego State does. How old are you anyway? :p

Me too. Maybe you could get a waiver based on your life's drunken experiences. :p
