...Good point...I have no life but memorizing the book would be ridiculous, yet strangely comforting...I bought the dvd a month ago and have watched it no less than 15 times...It is, in my humble opinion, the greatest movie ever made...it is playing in the background as I type...

I bought it the day it came out... though after watchign the preview for the other 2-disc edition that'll be released soon I realized perhaps i should have waited.. of course, I wouldn't have known about the newer edition if I had...

btw - i've watched it a handful of time, but nothing close to 15. And while I think it was a fantastic movie, I hesitate to call it the greatest movie of all time... (but I was quite happy with it)

to me.. it was (what I seen of it.. probably an hour or so)

Mr Freaky liked it.. I guess it just depends on the person.

I'm not much of a movie person anyway. So my opinion really doesn't count.

These were by far my favorite books from my youth...and I still reread them...but the movie was amazing and far surpassed any expectaions I had...besides...it really is almost impossible to make any movie as good as a book it was based on...but LOTR is the best I have seen...

Freakygurl's right. The books are much better ... still I can't wait
to see the next one. From everything that I've heard, it's more
"epic" than the Fellowship.

...Umm...nothing...not until later in the movie when Saruman ( the evil wizard guy ) tells the Uruk-Hai ( the buff orc ) how orcs came in to being...tortured and mutilated elves...then he tells them all they will taste manflesh...I much prefer womanflesh myself...
