Although pretty new here, I have been reading through some of the threads regarding messages and PM's that annoy members and those that are just plain assumptious and outright rude. I found my way to Lit initially because of the literature posted here (erotic stories) and was not aware of the Amateur Pic Feedback until a couple of days later.

In my humble opinion, this site is a great outlet for people who want to share their stories and themselves in a non-threatening manner with other people who are of like minds to enhnace their sexuality, personal sexual experiences and their relationship with their significant other. Have I posted replies to pictures and threads that are a tremendous turn on? Sure I have and am myself guilty of making some comments about my desires of wanting to enjoy some of the fruits of other people's labor. At least I wasn't rude about it.

But, isn't this site all about dealing with your fantasies, somewhat like seeing a very attractive man or woman when you are out to dinner or out in public - you know, the "Good Lord, look at that..." kind of thought. I think that those who are on this site looking to get something physical should spend their time somewhere else and post on sites that are all about hookup personal ads.

The site can be (generally speaking) whatever people want to make it. Many people use it as a harmless outlet for fantasy. Many people use it as a medium for hooking up. Many people use it for something in between, namely finding a cybersex or phonesex partner for a short time. Think of Lit as a sort of lawless border town where almost anything goes and nothing should be taken too seriously.

I've gotten a number of rude PMs and comments, but overall I think people are reasonably polite. Myself, I don't think it's worth the energy to get too offended about an overly, shall we say, "enthusiastic" approach, because it is a sexually-themed site, after all. If I post a picture of my naked body on the internet, or post stories about how much I love oral sex, that's always going to signal "I'm available" to some people, even though I've never actually posted anything that says I'm looking to hookup here. On the other hand, I'm not under any obligation to respond politely to those people, or even to respond to them at all.

I think Lit is amusing as hell and a wonderful way to pass the time. There are some posters 'round heah (monique, bluebell, daizie, lorali, maid of marvels, molly hunter, sassyfrass, ......among many others) whose humor, wit, skylarking, lollygaggin' and general tomfoolery gives me pleasure. There's a horrific oversupply of stupid, humorless people in this world and life's too short to spend time amongst 'em. Then, of course, I'd be lying if I didn't admit that an occasional glimpse of gloriously nekkid, curvaceous womanflesh doesn't have the effect of considerably brightening my days.

Do I expect to ever meet anyone here from Lit IRL? I doubt it- but you never know. I don't exclude the possibility, but the reality is that it's remote. In a way, that's a shame; I think it'd be nice to get to know some of these folk.

I agree. There's something different about most of the people who post on here, meaning that meeting them probably wouldn't suck.
It could even make the top-ten list I do sometime during New Years Eve of fun things that happened that year (yeah, I'm that pathetic, you wanna fight about it???).

Sure, as you said, there's some crazies, some creepy droolers (hopefully only metaphorically speaking), and some people who need medication, like, now.
Some just need a whacking great dictionary (or a whack with a great dictionary), but a lot of people seem bound and determined to be the exception to the rule.
