Is getting drunk immature?

Drinking and getting drunk isn't nessesarly immature. Doing it every weekend or other frequent time period is.

Now I admit, I enjoy a good party as much as the next person, and the parties I throw tend to be pretty....Raunchy at times. Alchohol isn't the main event, indeed it tends to fall upon the wayside, but almost always some of us end up drunk. And that's fine. Why? Because we don't do it all the time. And when we do, it's in a suitable and safe environment.

No one is allowed to drive home, unless they are not drinking. And if I know someone is driving, someone watches them, and will take their keys if they do have a drink. There's always plenty of food to eat, and water to drink to help prevent someone getting sick. And most of all, the people we have over, all trust each other. No strangers, and very rarely will any of us invite someone else along.

We may know we're getting drunk, or likely will, but at least we plan and prepare for the consequences of our actions. And that, I think, is the difference that separates the immature drunks from the mature ones. The ability, even on a short notice, to make sure that the people drinking are able to do so in a relativly safe, friendly environment.
