I seem to do at least OK in each of Anal, BDSM, Fetish, First Time (admittedly only one story in that category), Lesbian Sex and Toys & Masturbation.

But I have my two worst scores now in EC. Is it LW-lite?

Could just be troll season. EC doesn't seem that that hard of a sell to me. But I've heard this from more than one cat entry, so...

In terms of stories posted, EC is Lit's largest category. In terms of the number of readers, it seems to be much smaller. Stories on the EC hub don't get as many views as they do on several other hubs. I think that's because there are few EC readers, and they have a lot of content given to them. Maybe they vote capriciously for the same reason.

I don't know how many votes your story has, but you can write off low scores as meaningless if they don't have very many votes. The last story I put up went to EC. Past experience led me to expect a pretty small response, but I expected more than I got.

In my experience, EC is just a place, in my case one with scores slightly above my average. It’s certainly no LW cesspit. Trolls and one-bombs are a sad fact of Lit life everywhere. One learns to roll with them. They get swept in any case.

EC is probably your best bet, unless you can spin it into Romance or Mature or First Time and there are some risks there, too. Seriously, unless you’re getting some under-the-counter cheques from Laurel, you’re here to write for yourself, so cut loose and enjoy.

EC is an okay category - there's a lot of varied content there, the readers are reasonably responsive. The traffic isn't huge, but it's not the backwater category some think it is. It's not a cess-pit, either.

I only have one story in EC. It's my shortest story by far (~1800 words) and has been posted for just over two years. The score has remained above 4.50, but below the 4.75 average for all my other stories. It is also my story with the fewest comments (1) or feedback (0).

If I do a "catch-all" story, it will typically be long enough to go into N/N, which has been a very favorable category for me.

I too have just one EC story. The views and comments are really low in comparison, but I havent seen the trolling or bombing as other have.

Definitely a catch all category, so I wouldnt sweat the scores. My current project is destined there as well.

Maybe I secretly am Laurel . I have had people say much more outlandish things about me.

Given it’s a guy meeting a pornstar he is obsessed with, hard to pitch as romance or first time .
