Is Devin a boys name or girls name? This thread should have the new fixed poll.

I can't answer your poll -- I've seen it as both, and probably equally divided.

Like I said in your first poll the two I know are guys.

PL says she knows it as both.

Sooo bottom line I wouldn't worry about it. It's your story, you want to name the guy DEvin I can;t see it being a source of trolling.

Perhaps an addition Unisex option would have been good?

Q_C

I'm going to attach an electoral college to the poll. Yeah this is the second poll after i messed up the other one.

I really should have put an option for unisex.

-Sorry

I answered "yes" It's a boy's name or a girl's name. :)

Hell, I know girls named Sam, Max and Joey-- not even lesbians, and not even tomboys, so go figure.

Likewise I know men named Marion, Paris, and... umm.. Sue, I guess...

LOL, are you saying a persons name dictates if their going to feminie or masculine in the form of who they are and who their atract too?

So the one Devin you know is a girl i'm assuming?

Yes

I think she's saying just the opposite. That names have nothing to do with it. Names have to do with your mother and father's sense of humor, more or less. I have a good friend by the name of Harry Bush. You figure it out.

Yes

Or rather their inability to spell

You need a third choice in your poll: All of the above. :D

Never met a Devin in real life. the only one I know of is Devin Miles from the TV show Nightrider.

I would say its like the name Pat. Could be used for both. Most names really are just depends on how you say them.

I've know a woman named David and a guy named Hazel. Shrugs She pronounced her name (Davia) and he went by (Haz el) use to tease him he was trying to sound like he was from Krypton

Haha, I'd forgotten about that Devin -- or was it Devon? I have to say I've never met a Devin/Devon/etc. in real life, either, but I have seen it used for both men and women in TV and books. I used it for a guy myself in one of my stories.

Comment from my editor!

Comment from my editor! "Here you go. I was a bit surprised by the girls name, Devin is usually a mans/guys name. This might cause some confusion for your readers."

Depending on what you have your Devin do, I doubt an astute reader will be confused for very long.
