Either way, just let me say I’m sorry to hear that… i lost a friend to alcohol and another to drugs so I’ve seen the destruction addiction causes in peoples lives and those around them.

As for cognitive capacity, you won’t ever regain what you destroyed of course and I’ve never seen you post anything I thought showed any real natural ability, education or life experience worthy of note anyway… so I wish you well in doing your best to use whatever’s left in the pursuit of inner peace.

I honestly think you got her wrong.

Her anger isn't about unhappiness in her personal life,
nor about entitled Britishness
it's about feeling lied to and duped.

Many immigrants go through this.
They're presented with glossy brochures and idealised narratives, be it America, Hawaii, Canada, Thailand or Australia
and when they see that there's also a dark underbelly, they feel lied to and cheated.
