Is blobfish a Racist?

Short answer: Yes.

Longer answer becomes kinda irrelevant, but anyway... Hateful, probably not. Ignorant, yes. Thinks he's funny, yes.

To be totally honest, I'm not racist. It's just fun to act that way sometimes, like Archie Bunker. I don't dislike anyone because of their race or any other superficial things.

Does he know I'm not a white girl?

Should that excuse his racist remarks?

Don't know.

That's the pitfall of going the racist route for humor or anything else. It's cheap and easy and stupid and hurts all the wrong people. He may think it's hilarious but he's busy tromping all over buttons that are pushed in other people's brains, not his own.

It's up to you whether or not to excuse him.

That's like saying "I am not hitting you, I just like acting like the Three Stooges, they're funny."

It's bullshit.

So, I guess every comedian that has ever used racial humor is racist.

Every comedian who has used racist humor to make fun of himself or his group has a shot at being funny.

The other comedians, who make fun of other people, are just assholes tromping on the worst part of someone else's brain and hoping that the subsequent discomfort with the issue will make people laugh.

You think you're funny because you make fun of yourself and other people. You're half right.

You know what Virginia Satir always said, WHATEVER COMES OUTTA MY MOUTH IS ALWAYS ME AND NEVER YOU.

No. Blob is an aquatacist.

He has an innate dislike of anything that can breathe air.

White privilege, meet your epitome.

He does it for the disposable lulz, while others different from him soak up the hits he'll never experience. Oh, to be young and stupid and not have to care because it's just words (a.k.a., the "lighten up, don't be so uptight, I'm just fooling around" excuse) and every day is just another joke and there's limitless space to play in when you're in the sandbox of the internet.

Well, I guess almost every comedian of the twentieth century is an asshole. I can't disagree. Also, I poke fun at Americans all the time.

I think what you misunderstand is that when someone makes a racist joke, they're generally poking fun at the stereotype, and not the people. I don't know you, so I have no idea if you fit any of the black stereotypes, or even if you are really black. When Europeans, Canadians and Australians say Americans are all fat and stupid, I don't take offense, because I know that most of them don't really think that. America is a diverse country with all kinds of people, so I know that very few people are dumb enough to believe the stereotypes.

It doesn't really matter. Would you want to BE him?
