Is being bisexual genetic.

Fantastic question!

Since a person’s sexuality isn’t binary and we all fit somewhere on a spectrum, it sometimes feels like there is a genetic link.

Like other members of the animal kingdom does it not exist in all of us? Just some more than others. And I don't mean to offend anyone when I suggest that.

I don't think sex with someone needs a label, to me there is lifestyle, and then raw sex. I love sex with men and women! Life style is a choice. Gay or straight, I just fall in the middle!

Sexuality is complicated and science cannot yet tell us precisely how each person comes by their sexuality.

Certainly, there are hints that genetics may come into play. But science tells us that’s only one part of the story.

Consider, for example, that you, your father, and your son may have

Our son and daughter are both bisexual and I would kind of hope it is hereditary, but I think it’s more a realization in society that it’s not only “OK” to be bisexual, it just about doubles your chances for having wonderful sex. I suspect my wife and my open attitude about it helped make it easier for them.

Nature vs nurture… I don’t think there is yet evidence of genetic markers for bi or homosexuality…

sometimes i think maybe its hereditary are you born like it i cant believe you slowly turn into something your not, it has to be in your dna or your genes

I'm also bi, so please don't interpret anything I say as phobic or prejudiced or insulting...

I guess as a strong Darwinist, i don't see what obvious evolutionary advantage would track with a gay or bi gene? I know it's not that simple...

...but then again the things that shape us beyond genetics are extremely complicated as well.

I also agree STRONGLY with the "spectrum" concept, I feel like few (if any) people are 100% anything when it comes to sexuality. Many factors can move a person up or down the spectrum, to the extent they have a "base" or default position on the scale.

But that's just my opinion. I could be wrong!

I do think there's some biological basis to my bisexuality.

I still remember the first porn magazine I saw when I was first becoming sexually aware. The guy's big cock and balls instantly excited me just as much as the girl's hairy pussy and breasts, and it's been that way ever since. It wasn't something gradual for me--it just hit me in the same way that straight sexual desire does for most people at that age.

Hehe, i was gay before I was straight, then bi, then straight for a while, then bi, then bi and gay, now bi again.

I think sexuality is both on a spectrum and fluid. Some people lean more towards homosexuality and some lean more towards heterosexuality, with varying degrees on that spectrum. People can also have times when they have a stronger desire gay/lesbian sex and at other times have a stronger desire for heterosexual sex.

There probably is a genetic aspect and an environmental aspect to sexuality. With mental illnesses, there is combination of genetics and environment when a person is diagnosed with something like Borderline Personality Disorder. PLEASE NOTE THAT I AM NOT SAYING HOMOSEXUALITY OR HETEROSEXUALITY IS A MENTAL ILLNESS. I ABSOLUTELY DO NOT BELIEVE THAT. But, it is an aspect of a person, which could be affected by both environment and genetics.

I tend to agree with this. I don't believe that sexual preference is an 'everything or nothing' situation as evidenced by MMF/MFM situations. I'm not speaking from experience because I've never been in a 3-sum but that doesn't mean I haven't fantasized about it.

I've wondered what those scenarios would be like for me. Would I be primarily attracted to the cock or the pussy with the other being a nice addition? If I'm primarily attracted to the cock does that make me bisexual? If I'm not primarily attracted to the cock does that make me heterosexual? I'd like to think that the degree of my preference would differ from one moment or one experience to another but what do I know... I've never done it!

Also, I'm not all about labeling in a negative way. Whether one is straight, gay, lesbian, bisexual, or anything else isn't a condemnation of the person. Those words have meaning and the people are what they are without judgement.

I think its about dominance and submission. When that manifests in the area of sexuality, you get gay, bi or straight. If there are totally submissive people who are not attracted to their own sex to some degree, then I may be wrong.

Maybe! I’m the only queer/trans person in my entire family (I’m asexual and nonbinary). Although, I supposedly have a distant relative who is a trans woman. They are my dad’s cousin’s child, I think?
