I know it's a couple weeks away yet but...

I am. Jennifer and I are staying home and I am actually *dum dum dum dum* cooking. Now, don't expect me to try a whole turkey, immmm no way, however, I am going to get a couple of turkey breasts, make some mashed potatoes and gravy, stuffing, a vegetable and some kind of dessert.

Wish me luck cooking because I am not much of a cook.

Have you started working on your Thanksgiving menu yet?

I already have a basic menu worked out. A 22lb turkey, a 9lb ham, sweet potato casserole, elotes, mashed turnips and potatoes, green beans and pearl onions, apple pie, pumpkin pie, homemade strawberry cheesecake ice cream, and homemade yeast rolls. It takes a lot to feed our normal 7 plus 3 or 4 friends who need a good meal.

Since my kids are all mostly adults, we share the cooking. So yes, we are all looking forward to it.

Yes. Its more than a year away though ;)

Mine was cancelled this year due to an illness in the family, so I missed out. I love Thanksgiving. All the food and a fraction of the stress of Christmas.

Hell yeah I'm looking forward to Thanksgiving.... I don't cook shit I just go house to house and eat everybody else cooking.

Thanksgiving is going to be a bit quiet this year, but I am looking forward to it. I will make a feast and my boyfriend and I will eat it for a week.

i am very excited. we'll be spending the time with my family. i can't wait to see everyone. i don't know what i'm charged with cooking yet. it depends on what day we roll into town.

I always look forward to thanksgiving. Christmas puts me in debt. Thanksgiving doesn't.

through work, I arranged for several families to get either a turkey and fixings that they can cook themselves, or precooked meals with either ham or turkey. I'll eat with some of them bro!

Leave the ball at home.

No. Not fond of traditional Thanksgiving food - turkey, cranberry sauce, stuffing, yams, etc. - and not fond of being around my very large family for extended periods of time. In previous years, I would have tried to put on "the face" and pretend to give a shit but this year, I've had enough of their heteronormative, exclusionary bullshit.

That sounds lovely, Pinkie. Don't worry, I'm sure you'll do fine and the food will be delicious. Get yourself a good food thermometer and take the temperature of those breasts so you don't overcook them.;)

I'm not sure what's up this year. Wherever we go I'll bring my green bean casserole. It's a fresh, homemade version of the nasty cream of mushroom soup slime that we all remember. It's good.

Always been the biggest holiday for my family. It was when all the cousins got together. At one point we had to have dinner at three different houses and finish with desert at one. Great memories...Now my siblings and I are doing the same thing with all our kids..magical time of year!!!!

Not yet. I tend to take life one week at a time. I have much still to do in this one.

Being unemployed is especially rough around the holidays, isn't it chum? :(

Being dumped, yet again, right around the holidays causes one to lash out at others, doesn't it?

Chin-up, lil Robbie, you'll find another one to pretend to be normal around.

thanksgiving is my favorite holiday by far- can't wait, but this year will be on Saturday because of work conflicts.... boo!

For the second year in a row, I will barely be able to eat on Thanksgiving. I don't know how I manage to do this. However, I will be going to my friend's house like I have for decades in the early afternoon. Usually I go to another dinner after but I am not sure if I will.
Since there is no real reason to go home this year, I might just stay out at my friends and watch stuff with them.
I am planning on bringing salmon mouse if I get some salmon ;)

Thanksgiving will be at the cabin, this year. It will be fun.
