Can anyone tell me how to remove "favourites" from an iPad. I have been using a well know IM system (GMail) to correspond with someone who is not in my contact list and now they continually appear in my favourites, even when I am not logged onto chat. Any suggestions please PM me?

If it's through an app, open it, and click the menu. Go into your conversation list, open hangout with the three dots (Options). Tap settings and click block user.
Alternatively, you can tap Contacts, go onto the person's name. Click Options and tap on the Hide Contact option.
If the hangouts is through the browser, then start by clicking on the contact's name, you see a gear symbol (or three dots). Click on it and then you have the option of hiding the person's name. Click it and it should hide it.
