Greeting Air Force One as it touched down under sunny skies and sultry heat was a hand-painted banner draped across the top of an airplane hangar that reads, "Obama Welcome to SUX - We Did Build This." "SUX" is the airport code for Sioux City.

"We" the collective noun as in, "We the people". Then, remember too that Sioux Gateway Airport (SUX) is in no way the same entity as the Army Air Base that once stood there, not even the runways.

So yeah. I'm sure they bought the service of private businesses for erectring the scaffolding and nw paving and whatnot. But it is a Government financed, owned and operated facility.

If we should heed to the current Republican screed, that a country should be run like a business, I suggest that the best analogy for what type of business a country is, is an apartment complex, or maybe a hotel. There's a landlord, the Government, and there are tenants, the Citizens. The Citizens demand high standard facilities. Clean hallways, working drains, reliable electricity, a working elevator, and so on. They also want to pay low rent.

In this case, the landlord has two options. Either let the place to to shit, keep the rent low, and tell the tenants who complain to suck it. Of he can raise the rent, and tell the tenants who complain to go suck it.

I know I'd rather be the landlord of a pretty house than of a shitty house. But each to their own.
