How do you find Chicago to be a hell-hole? No doubt, there are dangerous parts like any big city, but the food, culture, and museums are better than most large cities.

Also, you cannot compare West Des Moines to Chicago. Chicago metro is nearly 14X the size of Des Moines metro. Des Moines has some cool stuff no doubt and if you’re into a smaller city then it’s the place for you.
