Introducing yet another Internet sex toy.

I'm confused. Draw in light on their bodies? Doesn't sound like either a toy or sex to me.

Was wondering the same thing, 3113. Where's the moisture? Where's the pressure? Where's the up-and-down motion or vibration commonly associated with toys for couples?

This seems like a step backwards from the reality of a web cam. Why settle for light patterns when you can see the real thing?

That's contraption is just stupid. Why not simply make sexy phone calls back and forth to each other and masturbate? Am I missing something here?

So I guess no one here is seeing the potential - or all the ones commenting are males and not females.

I am male, but for the life of me don't get it, unless the shape of your lover transformed into a beam of light some-how does it for you?

It's not a sex toy, it's an intimacy/slow foreplay/take your time and enjoy each other's company while admiring your partner's body toy.

At least, that's how I see it.

I suppose, like a connection with your lover.

Yeah, something like that. I wouldn't have much use for it (I suspect most pervy people wouldn't), but I'm sure there are couples that could benefit from it.

It does seem like a tough sell. Of course, if they include the right drugs it's a hit.

The royal court is bored again.
You mean us, I suppose? ;) "That's it? A light?" Yawn! "Off with his head! Bring in the next inventor for our entertainment and pleasure. "

Well, I'm female, but I can't be trusted when it comes to sex or sex toys. I tend to agree with the guys.

Use a little imagination, here!

Look guys, this isn't an alternative to webcams and sound, it's a potential addition to webcams and sound. It's a way of reaching through the network and touching the other person. OK, only with light. OK, this isn't going to simulate wham-bam-thank-you-ma'am sex. It isn't meant to. It's meant to be a means of intimate play. And for heaven's sake surely you can see the potential in play where you get your partner to follow your light with their fingers. Obviously the BBC weren't going to say 'this is a mutual masturbation enhancer', but that's what it is. And I can definitely think of someone with whom I would like to experiment with it.

Personally I'm really pleased to see something like this coming out of my own fucked-up, sexually repressed nation. I keep worrying we're slipping back into the dark ages, but if BBC Scotland are reporting things like this, maybe we're not.

Good point Simon, I too would experiment with the *device*. Thanks for the post.

I didn't have us in mind, but I kind of like the thought. ;)

I suspect we got that. But I have to laugh if I imagine her moving a light rapidly back and forth for me to follow with my hand. Could be fun, though :)

Haha, it was originally designed for "interactive combat".

This has something to do with there not being a lot of sunlight in Scotland, yes? :D

Speaking on my own behalf, if the light comes with a nice, warm, male Scottish voice, then I'd be all over it. On second thought, screw the light, all I need is the voice...Scottish accent. Mmmmm...

Actually, the first thought to come to mind is that one had better make sure the cat is locked out of the bedroom as it's surely going to follow and pounce on that light and do so a lot faster than the fingers.... :cattail:
