Remeber Aussie People, the magazine that came looking for 500-word stories a few months back? Well, I submitted to them, never heard back and pretty much forgot about it-

Today I got a check in the mail for $100AUD.

I have officially sold a story!!!!



And on the day I submitted my first story to Phaze! I'm taking it as a omen of good things to come, but even if I get rejected, nothing can take away the fact that I have made my first step in become a true and complete author. I am over the moon, and I am so very, very thankful that I have all of the wonderful people on Lit and in my life to share this news with.

Hello Renee and congratulations! Phaze - dang - I must get my butt in gear!

I got my checks from the Aussie guy yesterday - was beginning to wonder if I ever would!

National banks won't charge a fee for cashing them I found (state banks will) and I think it'll be around $75 in dollars. Pretty sweet for a 300 word story.

Adrenaline has finally started to wear off, and I'm starting to get congested again. I'm going to treat myself to a long hot bubble bath and good music (thank you Skip) and go to bed while I'm still glowing.

The guys are fussing at me, everytime I touch one of them in passing I shock them- that's how charged I am right now. It's such a small step, but it has done so much for me. Words don't suffice.

(And for those who know how "purple" my writing is, that's saying a lot!)
