Intro to BDSM

If it's not something that is imperative that I know right away--like that thread I made ages ago about my vag bleeding--then I'll usually sit on it for like, a few months. Unless something else happens that I feel makes it OK to bring up, like that Non-Sexual BDSM thread.

I guess there are some people who need to know what they want to know RIGHT NOW.

My introduction was at a drive in X rated movie. It was maybe Behind the Green Door, all I remember is a woman tied to a chair, that's all. Years later I found a Dom to bring out my inner self. That's it put simply!

f^_^: )

I feel kind of silly having asked a similar question when I arrived. I'm actually pretty happy everyone was somewhat kind about it. Eh heh heh... (>_>)

I just looked over your thread on first experiences and I noticed several differences between your first post and the OP here:

1) You provided some background for your post and suggested things that you were interested in knowing.

2) You opened up immediately to describe your own first experiences so it didn't seem like you were just fishing for wank material.

3) You concluded with this: "Also, I'm sorry if this isn't a new or interesting thread. If there's a place this has already been done, I'd love a link and I'll happily let this die."

All of these factors made it much more likely that readers would take you seriously and contribute to your thread.

Amen.

This makes me feel better. I'm happy to contribute and ask questions without stepping on toes. ^_^ I will, in the future, give it some more thought before posting.

Exactly!

Okay, I get it. What I don't get is the condescending attitude towards newcomers. I realize some people have been on here longer than others, but everyone was a newbie at some point. This is supposed to be a place where people can feel free to talk about their sexuality. Reprimanding them for not knowing the "rules" isn't exactly welcoming.

Well said!

Welcome to Lit Michael... I'm relatively new here as well… at least in the case of not too many posts for this very reason. Many of the "Lit Professionals" take great please in launching verbal assaults (typically quite sophomoric to boot) at newbies. I actually opened your thread out of great curiosity... which has now evaporated. Though it was well worth it just to read your retort "do you guys get paid by the word"!
Sure, like you I get it… had you looked/searched sufficiently you would have likely found several existing threads you could have posted on. I don’t have issue with that. I have issue with the rampant unpleasantness that results. “garshdarn I wish I could be a LitPro!” Something to aspire to I guess... ha!
I often find myself wondering what these angry people do in the real world. For some reason its these types of comments and smart-alecky direction that seem to conjure up images of low budget security officers who live to flex there "authority".
Good luck to you on Lit and remember... if it was one of the first 5 thoughts you've had... play it safe and don't post it. Hold for lucky thought number 6!!:D

What, you want BDSM to be a Hallmark card?

I always enjoy reading your posts, and have learnt a lot.

But this has to be one of the best posts I've ever read.
I cackled and just about fell off my chair, and I still can't stop sniggering.
